2001 LJ-81 with 2.0l EFI motor and auto Tranny

Sounds ? YES!! I was trying to find a motor to put into my Lj phoned around then I phoned my uncle, and SCORE he bought a 2001 Vitara 4door w/2.0L in it, I was a OPPs, he didn't want it the unit was in a accedent and can not be plated anymore but for this it will work. I got the whole thing for cheap very cheap (FREE) hehe. So now the project begins. I will have to get the old body off and gut all the elec out of both units. What I plan on doing is this remove the body and box off my frame and save the motor and frame (sorry it is not for sale) then put it on the vitara frame modified with a lift ( think I could fit 35 swampers under it, maybe not but 31 would be nice ) I will have to make the front fenders 4.5" wider per side, but I have a plan for this (stay tuned, I is a very cool trick, and not some cheap looking think) Just have to find somthing to do for the back wheels to cover them. Alot of work :) put I think well worth it.

What would you pay for a 2001 LJ-81 with a efi 2l motor and independent suspension. Cool old Look with Modern power and reliablity. and a auto tranny. Maybe A/C???

It's About time! Today I went and got the Body off the frame out at the farm. We just picked up the body with the tractor and as fast as you cane say sh** i forgot to undo the fuel fill line it was off. Looks good, just have to fix the front end a little, and then plop in the motor. Also swaped out the old stock rims with a set of old chorme mod's and the tires I got from Rob (THANX!!). The Vitara looked dam good with the 31's on but only for a few seconds the bam there was just tires and a frame. Front brakes are sezed but that is just from sitting for a year or two. With fix that Wednsday along with the frame ( I love sasktel the put a frame pulling pole in my backyard or is that a power pole??)

A few shots of the frame:

Got the Body on Last Week!! SWEET!! Also had to repair the front motor cover and sort out the wires1 This was crazy!!!!! Too many wires and colors make me go mad. But think I have it now, started putting wiring back in today. Hope it runs! SOON.

Fabed up the snorkel, and a few odds and ends. Have to mount the roof rack and boxes. For the fenders I was going to made some sweet tube ones but then well I was looking for the back set I found the perfect thing for the front seem to be working so far, still have to widen the grill area a few inch’s.

Found led lights for the front and in back I will put 2x5 or whatever oval light with grommets ( I was going to cut out the stock area and weld in come mounts for the rubber grommets). Led’s too!

Does anyone know where I can get the 7” main lights in Canada that convert it to halogen lights?? Here is a few Photo’s. Also What do you think of the Color???? Hope the color doesn’t draw power when not running!! HEHE!! Wear you shades!
