Does anyone know if the wholes drill in new rims are a standard size or are the unique per manufacture?

Let me phrase that question different. Can I take a wheel of a chevy 8 lug and put it on a dodge 8 lug and just get new lug nuts? Even though the chevy wheel and wheel stud are a lager diameter.

it shouldn't matter just run the same studs. they should be acorn type lugs and hence the rim will automatically center itself, so yea just change the lugs nuts.

Well, the reason I ask is because I put a Dodge 60 in the rear and a Chevy 44 in the front of my jeep. When I ordered my tires and wheels, I ordered for the Chevy 3/4 ton not knowing the wheel studs are different diameter. I'm not trying to get cheep but new wheel studs at the local parts store are $2.70 a piece x's 32.

thanks for the input.

Thay are standard thread sizes with variations in length and how the end splines are. If you use an open ended lug nut with the same shape of conical end you can probably get by with what you already have. Anyway if you have to change, you'll only have to change one axle and leave the other one the way it came. (16 instead of 32.)

I have not measured the rim hole diameter in the rims, but aftermarket rims do not specify 9/16 or 1/2 studs when I order my stuff(I will look next time though). Also, when I was converting to rear disc brakes, my buddys at the tires shop were helping me with the studs and they mentioned I could goto a 9/16 stud insted of a 1/2 if I wanted to and I would just have to get new lugnuts.
