i have a 1992 cummins, the pass. side caliper was dragging so i replaced both sides at the same time w/new ones. and the pass side is still hanging up? WTF! both sides have new shims and retainers and i wire brushed and caliper greased the rails where the caliper is "supposed" to slide. any ideas? another bad caliper? is this a common issue with this 60 front? thx

No, brakes hanging up are common on all braking systems, not just your truck. Did you replace the caliper hoses? If not, replace those and retest. If that doesnt help or if there still is a problem, then you need to go get a brake pressure testing kit and test the pressures to each caliper. If that isnt the same side to side you need to start inspecting the lines to the hoses. try that and let us know.

do you mean replace the hard line all the way from the "t" at the axle or just the 4" flexable rubber line at the knuckle going to the caliper? thx for the input.

Change the rubber hose, but also check the steel line. The P.O. of my truck installed a steering stabilizer and crushed the steel brake line with the u-bolt that mounts it:shaking: . You don't know what you'll find until you look at it closely.

naw, i did all the lift work for the 37's on mine, i cant believe people are dumb enough to crush brake lines w/a stablizer u bolt LOL kinda of a control oxy moron LOL. i have it up in the air now and both the front wheels will spin with about 15 ft lbs but will only spin 3/4 full turn after letting off. the problem seems to be kinda irratic (sp?)

If the front rubber lines are bad, somtime we find that fluid will travel down the caliper, then not release pressure for a while so that side drags. Kind of like a temperary one way valve
