Last year we raised and donated over $5,100.00 to the Rubicon Trail Foundation! This year we're shooting for over $7,000.00!!! Help us reach our goal by stopping in and having lunch with us. While you're enjoying lunch, please check out our Vendor's Booths and purchase some raffle tickets. Like last year, we will have some awesome prizes to award to some lucky people!
We look forward to seeing many of our old friends and making some new ones while we work to support the Rubicon Trail ;)

I have a premier B movie that wont be out for a couple of months. Stars Josh Holloway from TV's "Lost". I did the art and packaging and I'm sure I could arange a legal premier of it if ur interested.
Breif Synopsis: Josh Holloway teaches the art of seduction to a virgin gynecologist in this hysterical romantic comedy.
Its not rated but I would give it something barely above PG13. More suggestive than anything else.

We're going to advertise the heck out of Cantina this year. This is the year to make this thing POP like nothing else. Every little bit helps, but this Cantina idea is US making a dent in OUR trail, for OUR future. The Foundation is absolutely the key to helping us save this trail, and every dime we can raise, WHILE HAVING FUN, is the most awesome thing we can do.
Thanks to all the TDO crew and their helpers and supporters. :)

I just did the paypal 'sent money' deal. $100.00 cash prize for the raffle from the California Creepers.
Looking at the list of prizes and support this year I'm thinking the 7K goal is doable. Thanks for all the effort and time you guys are putting into this. This is awesome!! Someday, we all may own a piece of the Rubicon trail.
Unfortunately, I don't think any of the Creepers are going to make the event. A big crew is heading to the Rib cook-off in Reno which was planned for some time. In any case, have a great time and thanks again.

Josh, sorry I missed you -- I was in the white subaru hauling ass up Icehouse when you were on your way downhill.
This was another rocking year at the Cantina. Simply awesome! TDO and friends worked hard and did a great job. I mowed through a stack of beef and chicken tacos and couldn't tell you which was better -- both were great!
Today started slow, but picked up pretty well at 2 or 3 as people started to collect for the stack of goodies being raffled. The folks behind the raffle table had a smooth process figured out that kept things moving along nicely.
These folks have of their time and their wallets -- not just the PROFITS but the PROCEEDS go to the cause -- TDO and friends picked up all the COSTS!  Another record, for sure, but that means another record cost for TDO, who stepped up yet again!
Mad props to this great group of guys -- they take pride in not being a 'REAL' club with rules and politics, but DAMN, can they raise money!

As always, you guys went all out! Thank you for helping to keep the Rubicon open. Jake and I had a great time and ate way more tacos and nachos than we needed to - that was some excellent grub!

What A Way To Spend A Weekend
Cantina '06 was one of the best spent weekends in a long time. Although my weekend took me into the Rubicon itself for a couple days, the Cantina made the trip all worth while.
Our trip started off Friday afternoon when we went rolling in. The always friendly Bruce from Roundeyes was there with his big 5th wheel to stop us and say hi. We double checked the events and times that everything was going on, shook hands, laughed and we were off. The trip while on the Rubicon trail was great fun and a story all to itself, so it will wait for another thread.
Sunday, after a complete weekend of wheeling, rocks, and dust, we emerged from the trail. As we approached the Cantina area the air started to fill with the smell of food. As we rounded the corner we were surprised to see an entire kitchen set up and raffle tables (yes, I did type TABLES). There where 130 + prizes if I remember right, and the vendors went off. The prizes ranged from U-Joints to 1 1/4" heims to a Warn winch, a $350 trip to the Jeepers Jamboree (that's what I wanted), and even a tube chassis.
The tacos, nachos, burritos, and drinks where fantastic. The price was great and knowing that the proceeds go to such a good cause, makes it even that much easier to buy a few, or a dozen, or more (I don't know, I was pretty hungry. Can't pack much food in a buggy). I know the wife and I made more than a couple trips to the kitchen for some of the good stuff.
Oh, and did I mention the prizes. They had alum. fair leads with "Save The Rubicon" engraved in them (you won't find one of those in a products catalog). Tons and tons of goody bags, some off road lights, t-shirts, and hats. There were also some tables full of business cards, and stickers from the different vendors who helped with the raffle. Oh, and did I mention the prizes. There where so many of them.
I am very happy to say that I made it to Cantina '06 and am glad to see an event like this do well. By raising $8000 for the Con, the Dysfunctional crew may be more functional than they think.
Good job and keep up the great work,
Aaron

Right, Ryan, or Nailhead, welded it, Rick, Jeeperrick supplied the welder, I supplied the smartass'd comments.
Thanks to all the dontated, and all the people (like Trailer guy) that I finally got to meet.
We can not wait until next year, and promise it will be bigger and better.
Give us a few days to sort out raffle prizes and the list, as many of us just got home and need a few days to unpack, clean, and figure everything out.

I bought enough tacos to about kill myself. And with all the remaining $ in my wallet I bought raffle tickets. Just curious, how are we supposed to know if we won anything if we weren't able to be present for the drawing? I think we all came out winners with the $8000 we raised for RTF, but I'm curious where we can find a winners list....
