What are you going to be using for a steering shaft? Are you making one out of parts that you have around, or just going to buy one? Also, do you have the stock steering column? Just curious.

You've been driving that beast with MANUAL STEERING?? you must have arms like popeye!! :p what are you using to support the steering colum? i cannot find any bearing supply companies anywhere out here, so i cant find a pillow block. dont feel like paying AA either. im getting interested in the teflon bushing idea, is that what your going to do?

tpi land cruisers in tennesee, 25 bucks, carries teh bolt in bearing. i have it, u should too, lol, but seariously i know there is something cheaper, but this was easy! jiMMy

grainger sells the bearing/pillow block setup but you have to re-drill it cause the bolt pattern is off just a bit.:D
