My scout (304 engine) is running very rough and when I took off the air cleaner it ran much smoother. I still have the old original comanchee unit. It looks to be starved of air. I then went to various shops to try and get a open air filament air cleaner like a KandN to increase my air intake. My opening on the the 2bbl carb is only 4 and a 1/4 inches and the shops said they didn't have anything that would fit. Have any of you guys found one that I could get to work, or do you know if holley sells an adapter to go from the the 4 1/4 neck to the standard size (5 something). Thanks guys! have a good weekend. I made my own by cutting the bottom ring out of the stock breather, keeping the pcv filter neck, and grafted it to one of the cheap chrome 14" open filter breathers.

I didn't know that you couldn't buy one to fit, the reason I did mine this way was because I already had the 14" filter assembly that I bought several years ago for a 4 barrel and sold the truck before I put it on.

Man your really into chrome, new chrome fan shroud. What else do you have chromed on that rig, how about a chrome cross-member :flipoff2:

new temp guage has a white face and a CHROME bezel............................................. .........................



I'm all about the chrome, gonna take this thing on the stereo show truck circuit.


Anyway, the chrome rusts completely thru in about a month down here in this humid bitch.

K & N part number for stock air cleaner is 1090

Just sell it to me, I'll run 'er wit out the air clear & roll 'er like a ball!

1090, is the KN air filter to fit in the stock unit. I got something ordered and I will tell you if it fits. It will be a tight squeeze.
