Hey guys, I have a 1988 Jeep Comanche with a 4.0L and auto trans. I have been having issues with it starting. It starts up well, revs around 2000 for a second, then cuts down to low and stalls. It will do it a couple times. Even giving it gas will not save it from stalling. Then it will start and if I rev it really high off and on then put it in gear and drive it will be fine and idle fine.!? Then if I shut it off it does it all again. It also will do it when the engine gets hot (light comes on). I know I need a new thermostat, but even when we took the hood off and added water wetter, it still gets too hot. Any ideas on any of this? Thanks. Jonathan:)
