: Motor Mount: 350 in YJ

Hey,

I found a set of MORE YJ mounts to put the 350 in a YJ for sale, unused, by someone who switched projects...so I got them at a great price.

My original intention was to run a EB D20 (just did a full rebuild on one) behind my manual tranny--already have the adpater--, but due to axle opportunites I now have, I will probably be running a D300 (I can easily use this with the tranny).

For those who don't know about the MORE mounts they are designed to index to existing holes in the frame, and offset the engine 1" to the passenger side (obviously designed to be used with a driver's drop case).

My question is...do you think that if I install the MORE mounts (I have to run the EB D20 for a short while) and then put the 300 in there that I will have driveshaft clearance issues? I am SOA with Waggy front springs.

I'm also thinking about reversing them and drilling a new indexing hole in the frame, but 've still some more measuring/thinking to do on this idea.

Thanks,

Charly

I have a turbo 350 and my offset is an inch to the drivers side and I have a good 2and a half inches of clearance .So you may get lucky and clear fine . Specially if you go with a manual .Then you want be fighting the valve body .

Yeah, I will be running a 4500 (for now, 465 in the future), so the valve body will not be an issue.

Brett,

I know a way you can be even more special...know anywhere I can get cheap Moog balljoints...:D

I found that i can not just reverse the mounts due to the way the mounts tilt the nose and the frame rail angle.

So I'm thinking of dropping a load of cash (which of course I wasn't preparing for) and rebuilding the 300 I have and rebuilding the axles and doing it all at once....

I wil probably just copy the design of th MORE mounts and offset the engine an 1" to the passenger side.

Brett,

Actually, if it's alright with you I will be coming down tomorrow morning, to pick up that spring cup you found and show you the MORE mounts and pick your mind on this subject......

I tried calling a few times tonight after 5, no luck, but I thnk it'd be best if you see the mounts anyway......the easiest thing would be if I can just use them with the D300 case and Chevy front.

fawkin' Mark :flipoff2: :D ,,,selling me these axles.....lol.
