: ARB compressor Puking oil

I had my truck up the other day and was checking some stuff out, kicked on the ARB comp and engaged the locker for a sec. then rotated the wheels for a sec set the truck down. When I turned on the compressor again it puked oil enough to make a puddle about as big around as a baseball on the ground and a good amount on the firewall. It runs fine or at least it seemed to.

My question WTF? And how much oil does it hold, 80/90 wt or something else in it, how do I top it off?

Thanx in advance

sometimes a goofy install will cause the diff oil to puke back up through the ARB compressor....

Mine does it too. but not that bad.

soooo.. what makes it do this after about a year of not doing it... it has done it ever sense. ( 3 years)

It was installed professionaly. (1000 miles away from here)

I thought his work was great.

So whats the deal nothing to worry about business as usual?
Just happened cuz I was messing with the diff up in the air with the locker on?

O-rings worn out or if they got nicked or twisted during install.

Where are these O-rings?

My O-ring on the compressor tank wore out.... the tank no longer holds air at all so I cant even engage my lockers.. Course. I never get to go off road either. To damn busy.. I hate it.

I got a dana 44 rear and a D30 front... I think its my front one where the line is producing oil out the valve off the compressor

I am running a Tera60R that I have been having some seal and bearing probs with. That could be it huh?

I get the same thing a little oil from the exhast on the solinoids but it is common for this. If the seals in the centre are gone bad its easy to tell just pull your breather line of the diff and turn the locker on and if you can feel or hear air coming out you have a prob. If not i wouldnt worry about it.

A freind had this prob too. Changed to O-ring - still pukes oil. Next check is that the axle Vent line is not plugged.

Most that i havve seen puke oil out the axle vent line (still not sure how its possibale to puke oil out of the compressor)
but when a seal i installed wrong in the diff the ARM just pumps air into the diff, makes the Diff an Air tank, then it just blows the oil out the diff vent line

:bounce2: Tooo funny, that would do it.

Uhhh. when the O-rings are bad, and you release the pressure the air vents out of the solenoids and guess what?, Diff' fluid goes with it. Thats how oil can be puking out of the compressor. The O-rings keep the air and oil seperate when they are working right.

I bow down to Locrwln.... He is DA MAN:trooper: :D

That makes total since. I have been asking this question where fit and even posted this question here before and u are the first one to come up with an answer.

Yeahhhhh... In fact in previouse post not much was said about O-rings in the Diff. I did not know there where any in there. I had mine set up by a Driveline shop due to my work schedule. Anyway... Im having built a new axil in my front so this should get me new O-rings too and should elimintate the prob. for a few years at least.
