For starters, how about telling us what MILEAGE you are getting.

Miles per tank is great, but we all have different ideas about what a "tank" is. Are you running it out of gas every single time? I doubt it, so the measurement of "tank" is irrelevant. The difference between 250 and 270 is only a gallon on a rig that gets 20 MPG.

Take miles, divide it by the gallons it takes to fill the tank and that is your miles. You know, miles per gallon or MPG? We can probably help you a bit more with that kind of information.

And, before even telling us that, just do your basic maintience. Oil, plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter, tire pressure ect. THEN, tell us what you get for mileage.

1)A 3.2?That is rare!!:shaking: and for the rest of the post------>:flipoff2:

Damn slick that rodeo weighs almost 5000# it's not a 2500#sammy....so your probabley getting between 14-16 per gallon and that's good.

Your "little" rodeo is about same weight,if not more than a fullsize K5 Blazer,
and they only got like 13MPG with a pathetic 305.

So chill out with the yelling,

and heres some more help :flipoff2:

If you are getting 250-270 miles to a tank, I assume you are filling it up with ~ 19 gals. The tank is 20.5 or so. With that being said, you are getting just what Mike(Mclark) said 14-16. That is pretty average...of course it all depends on your driving.

Like everyone else has said, these aren't light trucks. They are fairly heavy. Hell what SUV do you know that gets more then 20mpg in the city, short of a Hybrid? If that tank is based on city driving you are right where you should be. If that is highway driving it is a little low. Is it hilly? Do you speed? There are many factors that will contribute to lower mpg.

Next thing to look at....does it have oversized tires? by that I mean are they bigger then 245/70/16? If they are 31x10.5 or 265/75/16 then you are actually getting 6-7% more distance out of a tank then is registering on the trip meter. So instead of 250-270 you are getting 265-290 miles to a tank or 15-17mpg.

It all depends on a few factors...however it sounds like you expected a lot more out of your truck as far as mpg goes. You have to be realistic, even the Hybird Lexus only gets 26mpg on the freeways. These aren't econo cars, so you can't expect that type of mpg. City driving, you should be getting 14-18mpg depending on how feather-footed you are and 16-21mpg on the freeway if you have no headwind, slight downhill, etc.

Be realisitic. oh and in case you don't realize it all caps is considered yelling

So stop yelling :flipoff2:

Sending units in the fuel tanks always go tits up in those things too, could be telling you your tank is empty when it's not. My 98 flashes the low fuel light at a half a tank.
