I have a 1st gen 4runner. It sits around 7ish inchs over stock with 35" tires. I like to wheel on aggresive trails and I play in the rocks a lot. I also have dual cases. I want to change the stock clutch out. It doesn't have the clamping force that I want. I was wondering what clutch I should put in. I always hear about centerforce dual friction clutchs, but I've also hear that ACT clutchs are the way to go. I also drive this thing as a daily driver. I don't want to be churping my tires all the time. Comments?

I have a Luk ProGold in mine, had a Zoom in the past. Both seem fine.

I run 33s with a bored 22re(LCEngineering) and stock head, I ordered a street clutch from them as well. Ive been pretty happy with it and I used to do alot of high RPM burnout tests with it.:shaking: FWIW the centerforces are only better at very high RPMs, with your low gears you prolly wont need it.

One thing to think about, is Marlin reccomends a .026" step in the flywheel. Stock is .020". It is said to increase pedal feel while slightly increasing pressure. A few people around here are happy with this setup, including me.

I just replaced the original clutch on my '89 P/U with 207k miles. I have a similar setup with dual cases. Since I got 207k out the OEM clutch I decided to replace with OEM.

May I suggest a Luk as posted above. I have trashed others b4, even behind my I6. The diaphram Luk has done me well.
