Finally getting around to finishing up my scout. It was at the paint shop for about a year and was never finished. I finally took it back and made some time to get it done. Luckily i am finishing it myself because i found out someone had smashed in the drivers side flare and redid it in Bondo, about 3/4" thick! There was jsut a small amount of rust that was welded up, then they smashed it in for some reason?????? Anyway, i replaced the drivers side quarter panel, not to difficult at all. Its a 77' with 345. It has a 2" rancho lift i think. I was thinking of doing a 4" skyjacker with some 33"s and a locker in the rear, not too sure which one yet. What gear ratio is best with the 33s? Will also probably do a fuel injection conversion. The truck came from san diego with all the paperwork since new. They paid $6300 for it in 77, expensive truck back in the day!

Here are the pics of the quarter replacement.

This is why i needed to replace the quarter, someone beat the crap out of the flare with a hammer, then filled it with 3/4" of bondo.

Here is the new quarter installed, i used a new method in which you actually glue (epoxy) the new panel on instead of spot welding it. Its suppose to be way stronger and helps keep the moisture out of the seams (no rust).

I had the tub sprayed with a high pressure liner, came out pretty nice.

What's the info on your epoxy method of panel attachment? I need to replace a QP soon and am curious what you did.

Looking good

nice work, just dont take it wheeling:flipoff2: Dont want to see ya bang the hell out of the sweet body work. I never tried to straighten any of my body panels, since trees love to make better body curves than IH factories did.:D

Never had a 4x i havent taken off road. The day i bought my wrangler and cherokee they both went off roading. If i smash it, i can fix it! I like them to look nice, but i dont worry about them getting damaged, they can be fixed.:p

4.56's would be a good gear for 33's. We just put the 4" springs on my dads 76 scout terra it rides pretty rough with them, why not do a sping over it's a lot cheaper.
The inside of you scout looks just like my dads before I powder coated everything for him with a black texture.
