I'm gonna have to say that it should go somewhere that everyone will see it. That is just too freakin hilarious.

Laugh all you want cause it was damn funny, but the good news is, no more carrying spare carb cleaner or hairspray or whatever you were using to set the bead cause gas works best! Pour a little around the bead, make sure you get it well airated and light it up. Might want to stand back cause sometimes the tire blows right off the bead! All said and done, I think we smelled a bit funny heading back to camp!

I think I have seen this done best by first using a rachet strap to compress the tire as much as possible so their is less chance of popping past the bead of the rim.

Not sure if the racheting was done before or after the fluid sprayed in. I think after.

Thought of that but these were new, stiff Boggers and I don't think that would have helped a whole lot.

Say, did you ever get a reading of how much air was in that tire right after the bead got popped back on? Or is it just enough to reseat the bead?

Very little AIR -- what's in there is hot gases. The trick is getting air into the tire FAST before the gases cool. If you don't get air into the tire fast, the tire may suck itself right off the rim again!
