: Kate's new coat
wngrog 04-20-2002, 04:49 PM I just finished Kate's new look. I am now debating on whether or not to use the TJ flares I have.
Otherwise, the new fenders, paint and steel diamond plate rear corners are ready to get scratched up in Moab!
wngrog 04-20-2002, 04:51 PM I added 1" longer rear shackles and it seems to do a little better on the droop.
Check out the cool stock emblems on the rear 1/4
wngrog 04-20-2002, 04:54 PM Last one.....
peterfj40 04-20-2002, 05:01 PM i like, cant wait to see the moab pics
wngrog 04-20-2002, 05:36 PM You must have run in a "ringer". There is no way that is the Kate I saw last week! :)
Great job Hon.
Mom

Looks great Nolen... I'm just now starting to get Moab Newbie Fever...
COMPLAINE 04-20-2002, 06:04 PM Nolen - is that rattle can or spray booth? Looks ready for some Moab rock rash and Utah red dirt!
FeCamel 04-20-2002, 06:57 PM What's with the CCOT add on the side? Are you getting a kick-down? :flipoff2:

Nolen, looking great, what about the doors though? How did they turn out?
60seriesguy 04-20-2002, 07:11 PM Nolen, that looks AWESOME, kudos to a great looking Cruiser!!
You've confirmed by already strong belief that a hardcore wheeling Land Cruiser doesn't have to look like a flaming POS...
Here's to Kate and your trip to Moab!

The doors look great too, but I will only use them when it is cold.

I guess I am still logged on on her home computer!
Classic! I'm leaving that up!!  :D :D :D

So Henry, which Cruiser would you liked to be picked up at the airport in? Wilbur or Kate?

TxCruzr 04-20-2002, 08:14 PM Looks awsome Nolen...don't scratch the pretty paint now...and you said mine looked to nice :flipoff2:
Make sure you take lots of pics in Moab...unlike TheLakeRat. I only found one of his when he went, and he didn't even post the whole picture...:flipoff2:
Joseph A.

Stephen at CCOT had them made. That is part of the coolcruisers.com thing :D
I asked him if he wanted to make any more full size like that and he said definately not. Way too much labor.
He does make 3/16" 1/4 panels and they are around $350 for the set
They are totally bad ass though, I could take a sledge hammer and beat the side of my Cruiser now and not bend it.
Each corner weighed in at 45lbs.
FJ4ZROX 04-21-2002, 10:14 AM How much hammering was required to get the steel 1/4 panels to fit? What did you use to fasten them? I'm almost ready to pull my aluminum "5-bar" rear corners for my re-paint job and was thinking of CCOT's steel corners.
Inquiring minds want to know.....

They fit perfectly! Cutting the excess off for my large wheelwells was a chore though. If you have a pal with Plasma it helps!
As for fasteners, I went with a lot of rivets and it is stout!
Jason M 04-21-2002, 01:45 PM Ahh soon to hear the sound of fresh paint being removed by aztec sandstone :D
It looks really good nolen. Now to make it look used instead of a poser street rig :flipoff2:
See you sat...
ehsankiani 04-21-2002, 02:27 PM Cool Cruiser Nolen.. Hope you have fun in Moab..

Ann is not recovered fully yet so I am flying solo the entire time. So if anyone is out there that wants to go for a ride I need a good spotter ;)
I have similar problems as your friend. I can't seem to go anywhere without my fly rod. And there is always somewhere to get a line wet...
Plus I am STILL battling with getting the propane running right. It just does not want to idle for crap. Although it is funny. I do not seem to be loosing much power to the propane :D
I am going to go on a dedicated search tomorrow to find someone that can adjust propane carbs that is worth a shit here in vegas.

I'll be out solo, without a rig Wed afternoon through Sat morning (5/1-4). I'm riding with Eric V. on Fri, but I'm looking for a seat on Thur!!:D :D I'll be bringing my fly rod in case I can't find a ride!:(
goldenarrow 04-21-2002, 08:45 PM hey i notesed on your vintage photo that their were already some diamond plate cornner pannels on kate. What did you do with them? if you want to sell them i might be intersted:jeep3:

Another vintage shot....if I still had them, there was not much left of them! I had careved them up pretty badly.

That 40 looks sweet!
I say slap the TJ flares on if you already have them. I have TJ flares on the rear of mine and love em.
wngrog 04-22-2002, 08:55 AM I went ahead and installed the TJ flares...they look great!
HANGTOWNCRUZR 04-22-2002, 09:34 AM That is one of the nicest rigs I have seen! perfect set-up for the rocks. Are you going to make it to Rubithon this year?
Eskimo 04-22-2002, 10:21 AM Nolan, what kind of front bumper is on your FJ? Mine came with the same one, and I'm wondering...it's stout as hell...

Con Fer.....discontinued :(
Very stout! Shortened (of course)....3" tube used to drag on everything messing up my approach angle...the 42's fixed that ;)
Hogie71 04-22-2002, 05:31 PM DAMN Nolen, your rig is off the hook. for real. have fun in moab bro.:D :D
