hey there, and welcome to Pirate,

have you checked the linkage to make sure its not is not gummed or damaged or anything else ?

i presume that it has a NP208 case in it like most of the '80's K-10 and K-20's had

as far as what case to look for well it dpeends on what you want in it and how much you like to spend and how much work you like to do

what are your goals for the truck ?

just a pavement daily driver or ?

good luck :D

I have tried cleaning up the linkage with no luck still engages but slips right back out if i engage it and drive as long as there is preasure on it then it doesnt slip but the second i let off the gas it pops out , currently there is a 208 in there . i am using the truck as an all around vehicle from a daily driver to a hunting rig. not sure if i should just hunt down another 208 or go for something different

I think if I remember correctly that the 208's linkage can be adjusted, don't hold me to that though:D

I have the very same thing with my 208...everyone tells me the best thing to do is replace the 208 with either a 205..but would need modified..or the 241 which is a direct replacement..241 is supposed to be better than 208

swapping in a 205 sounds great..... but the adapter, driveshafts, and you loose your reduction, not to mention just a band aid for a problem kind of like saying you cant get your motor to run right..so go get another one:shaking:

241 sounds better and their are versions out their with out slip yokes and the gearing is lower..bonus:smokin:

What happens is the plastic fork pads wear out and do not allow the t-case to fully engage into gear. Pull it apart and spend about 20 bucks. about 10 for the pads and silicone and 10 for the oil
