54" Leafs? Leaf spring length chart anywhere?

Already have a Rancho catalog, good reference for their leafs, but only limited applications.

Are there any charts, listing stock springs length's, pin offset, and free arch anywhere?

Looking for 2.5" leafs, ~54" long, w/ centered pin.

52" Chevy's are the closest to this I've seen.
1960's Fords may have used 54" leafs, but the info I've seen says they had even more offset than the MJ leafs I'm replacing.

Are the 56" Chevy's centered?

Are the 56" Chevy's centered?No. The pin spacing is the same as the 52" chevies from the front. i.e. about 26" from the front spring eye. Sometimes you just need to go to a junk yard with a tape measure...

my 56" chevys mesure out to about 54" with no weight on em. Are you looking for an uncompressed length or main leaf length of 54"?

i found some at a yard that were jsut under 2.5" wide, about 54" along the arch with a centered pin. they were just sitting there not attached to anything so I have no idea what they were on originally. whatever it was, it was sprung under and it had a lot of arch, but a soft spring rate. there are some numbers and shit on the mains so ill try to get a pic for ya.

also, the mazda springs some of the yota guys run sound pretty close to what you are looking for.

The 54" measurment is the free length, with them off the vehicle,
measured straight across, eye to eye (I didn't measure along the arch).

I'll get the compressed length, thought the back is pretty light, it probably doesn't expand the leafs as much as a full size would.

That's good info that 56" Chevy's measure ~54" unladen, and have the same ft spacing as the 52's.
Sounds like a little less offset than the MJ leafs, so that might be a good compromise.

Also, I'll check out the Mazda leafs on the Toy side.

BTW Paul,
I'd say that those mystery leafs would be perfect (soft/arched 54" & center pin), except it sounds like the "54" along the arch" is measured differently from how I measured.

And yeah, it sucks when the perfect part is laying 50' from any other vehicle, and you have no idea what it came off of :confused:
