Peesalot POR Group buy on MT Fender Kits

Derivative from this thread: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=476229&page=3

I just did not want to hi-jack swilson’s thread anymore that is has been!

I got a call from Peesalot asking about a group buy on Fender kits. No problem we can set you up and yes do a POR deal. Now there is a major technical difference in fender kits from what is listed in the thread above! The kit used in the thread above is one of the old school OEM replacement fender kits I discontinued offering over a year ago. The difference is the height of the fender.

The one in the thread is in the stock location using an un-cut side apron.
The kits offered now are 2.5” higher in the center and 3” higher off the front lip over stock.

I do make the OEM replacement ones on special request. I discontinued making them originally since the radius of the bends never were dead nuts on with the metric radius of the side apron. This always bugged me, never had any complaints, but it bugged me. With that said I can make them still just be aware there is a slight gap between the skin and the side apron coming off the two bends below the side apron. (small but they are there.)

I have a new inner design on deck for the fenders, that changed the inner main support. This is to make it easier to use the fender kits with a stock 6 with the battery tray in place. As the kits are now the stock battery mount will hit the main support on the right side. Non issue for the V8’ed trucks. This new inner design may also help with incorporating inner fender skirts if you want them. (I never ran them, massive cooling w/o them)

Mark- what's the group-buy price? I've been meaning to get a set- but if I can get them at a better price, why not? Thanks, Luke

The order will go in tommorow. Right now we have six sets we will order. 4 OEM & 2 raised . I have Campy on the fence and 1 set still not spoken for 100%. So , we will order all six maybe more. They are intended to ship to Forestville Ca and we could arrange individual shipping if needed from there.
The price is great IIRC it will be 156 + tax and ship. I may cover the shipping to make things simple. Jump in people. Mark is a stand up guy and has contributed in a great way to a special cause for me. Thank you from our hearts Mark.....

Shoot Mark this mod was inspired by your interest in a set! Ok well I have also been working on it for a while, more and more guys running the stock ticker on the trails these days. i.e. Treeroot! Mike was the main inspiration since this was an issue on his build. The new inner support and mounting system increases the parts count by two, but will make the build faster in the long run.

Greenweenie = AKA LT! Dude welcome back from Europe. Get ready to get re acquainted with the bender fast! Group orders are not individually packed, so no boxes. They will be bulk packed most likely into a pallet box. I know there are a few getting shipped from CA so we will pack a few empty boxes for those sets. Ugg, back at it must ship a few orders in the AM so late one tonight. I will talk with you in the AM, freash load of DOM-SRA in as of Friday.... got a list to bend!

Ken & Dima , we can meet you half way or just pm me and we can decide on a plan to get them to you. Bring the vodka if it is ready.

Green , I will cover you on the east coast thing. If you get a big box marked chicken deluent it would be your fenders. The shippers tend to handle packages marked as such a little more carefully.

Pees and Mark, any chance you can add one more set? Ideally I want a set that is raised, but still would let me put the LC emblem and light on the aprons still. Have you bent any up that meet someplace in the middle from stock height and raised? If not I could take a set of stock height ones and mod them.

thanks!

Tony , ok , OEM it is and I assume you want skin/tab kit ? 156 for fenders , 71 for tab/skin kit . Prices are going up due to steel costs so this price is unobtanium after this.

Dustin , same ? do you want skin kit ? I agree , start with OEM style and do what you need. You are on the list.

Rockzar
07-19-2006, 01:02 PM
yes, please also sign me up for the skins. I'll take a pair of the stock replacement fenders, please. John, when do you need the fundage?

thanks!

That is what I am wanting to do so I can still run the side emblem. I figured I would get the stock height tube fenders and just move them up a tad...I think there is like just a little over an inch.

peesalot
07-19-2006, 04:37 PM
O.K. , Scott you are in for 1 set OEM no trim kit.
TxCrzr , there will be 1 set oem extra ordered for just in case so I will plan on that going your way unless you pm me a confirmation then I will bump the whole count up.

Tony , the trim kit is , a skin , a frame plate for mounting the support tube , and 3 tabs designed to use stock tub and bib holes to secure the fenders.

There is no inner fender provisions although we will be trying to incorporate the original inner fenders if possible . I am not sure it will work but seems like they will blend nicely with some careful planning.

Running w/o inner fender skirts helps a ton with cooling. Mark ran his tube fenders w/o fender skirts with his v8 and it ran really cool. On my propane powered 2f my temperature gauge won't even read halfway up the first tick on the trail. Plus here in Oregon we have a ton of mud, it doesn't affect the wiring as long as it is covered up well with tape or convuluted tubing.

Rockzar
07-19-2006, 07:27 PM
not sure which thread is more appropriate to ask, but.. Has anyone mounted tabs to the tubing for shock mounts? It seems like it might be a good way to go instead of Ford towers... which I still need to install.

cheers!

I wouldn't use the tube fenders as shock mounts. The tube fenders are sturdy but they aren't unbreakable. I can talk to Mark and maybe we can work something out for you ;)

I have used expanded metal for the rear half of my inner fender well for years, works great for air flow and still some protection from rocks and branches for your motor. The stuff I use is stainless so it won't even rust!!

John and Mark...

Upon further research, I am also going to pass. While I want the tube support on the outer fender lip, I don't want to cut the skirts or lose the inner lining.

I think I'd be better off taking my current set to Luke at the Lab and having him simply custom fit the tube support along the edge.

Ya, I'm a goober... but thanks!
