The Jeep - I am tring to narrow this down. I have a 01 TJ SE with aprox 62k miles one it. I have always used Mobil1 (though I plan on switching next change) every 6k miles or less if the trails have been dusty. I do have a turbocity intake:emb2: 4.0tb and I just swapped in new NGK plugs and MOPAR wires. The AX-5 has redline fluid in it.
The problem - is most noticable at lower rpms. The Jeep seems to bounce or run rough but I don't notice a difference in rpms. I can tell that it is drive-train related but I can't tell where it is coming from. The only thing I can figure is maybe the intake has allowed some dust into the engine but I'm not sure if that would give me these symptoms. The only other problem that I have had is the need for high (91-93) octain gas to avoid spark knock.

Are the NGK plugs copper? I have found that jeep engines are pretty picky when it comes to plugs and wires. If the NGK's are platinum tips I would try switching to a champion truck plug and see how it runs.
just my .02

They are just the regular NGK's. I had Champion truck plugs in before and thought that they or the previous wires may have been the problem. Of course as usual I thought wrong:(

Check the fuel filter. Sounds like when the engine isn't really needing lots of fuel is when you have problems. If you are able to hammer down on the throttle and not have any problems, then check the filter. I know, sounds dumb, you would think it would be the other way around, but you'd be surprised. Of course, if the rpms aren't changing, then could it be a clutch/bearing issue?

Thanks, I'll check the fuel filter tomarrow. I never thought about the clutch bearing, any ideas on what could cause that to go bad?
