i have a CO2 tank and regulator for my lincoln mig, i'm wondering if anyone has used the tank and regulator, just adding the quick release chucks and the rest that'll allow you too air up.

is there anything else i'll need? is there any reason this will not work?
anyone have experiance with them?

thanks!

It will work to air up tires, but won't have enough flow to run tools.

it'll work. I went cheep and used an old CO2 fire extinguisher had them recertify and filled it $40. Only issue I've ever had was it started to frost up on me once in colo. not an issue in az.

Most welding regulators are low flow and will freeze. This can damage or ruin the regulator. Or it might just work fine.

it depends how hot/cold it is outside, the hotter the ambient temp.the longer you can run tools/air up.During the summer you should be OK.

I used an old CO2 fire extinguisher tank.. cut off the tube that went to the bottom... screwed an oxegen regulator on where the exitnguisher hose use to mount. used O2 reg. cause it was cheap on sale... on old welder told me for short time use like this the O2 regulator would be fine

it was the large type O2 brass reg.

it worked great till it was stolen. I ran tools on it only briefly though.

I LOVED the Fire Ext. handel on it... I could squeeze and squirt.. or use the chain and pin to lock it open (or closed)

Well you might have a better regulator, but most that are used for mig welding are low flow and freeze up when you try to push too much thru them, old steel diaphram oxygen regulators work great tho.

That's how I figure.
