8.8 is 8.8 the only difference is the spline count, but that dont matter if your just swaping gears

yep he is right, but for the most part al of the suv and truck 8.8's
(explorer,bronco,ranger,f150) are the same spline count(31) so you can just change the cariers, pretty easy, ive done it(i'm only 18)

Ranger 8.8's have a 28 spline. The explorers have 31. Not sure what the 1/2 tons had.

well i nknow that the explorer and the 1/2 ton are the same 31 spline count, i swithced the carriers between the two. what years are the 28 spline on the rangers

thats really wierd, why would the small truck axel be smaller thatn the suv axel?

my guess is weight. I think the 93-97's were all 28 spline. my 94 has 28 spline. but soon it will have 31....and a 9"....;)

I wanna say all the 90 and up rangers with the 4.0 have the 8.8 with the 28 spline. Anything else has the 7.5, but that is 28 spline too.
