Hi All,
I won some sill tanks on ebay but I haven't picked them up yet, but was wanting to know what people think in the best way to plumb them. Do I feed them to the main tank or run them as seperate tanks?
There going in my 1985 RRC

i guess if you plumb them seperatly and get a hole or leak in one you don't loose all your fuel

To answer your question, I see no reason not to tie all of the tanks together. It may be a typical American cowboy response, but more is better!
We can sit around and speculate about tearing a pipe fitting off and losing air or other worse situations but I still think they should all be tied to gether for the greatest volume available at all times.
(somebody had to respond to the tech question :flipoff2:)

I think I will look at how hard it will be to have them seperate, otherwise I think I will use a transfer pump to the main tank.

If you have a diesel (correct?), then pump from the seocondaryies into the main. On the fly switching directly to the injection pump is a recipe for starving the pump and needing to prime it. Not only a PITA, but it is bad for the injection pump.
I just go for a couple of ex-MOD change over taps, nice simple and squadie-proof !
