View Full Version : 2005 Gmc
Has anybody had any trouble with the transfer case on their GM? I have an 05 GMC with the 5.3 that has recentely been displaying a SERVICE 4WD on the message center. It also shifted from 2 HI to NEUTRAL by itself while the truck was off, I noticed this after driving a couple of miles. The service message does not come back on after the ignition is turned off. If anybody has has similiar problems please let me know.

It should be under warr. if it's that new!
Take it to a dealer and they can hook a computer up to the BCM and see what part of the 4x4 system has failed. It could be the Actuator on the front axle. Or the push-buttons them-selfs. They should fix it! I would do it as quickly as you can cause it could cause alot more problems!

You drove a couple of miles with the transfer case in neutral? Must have been down hill.:flipoff2:

There are some TSB's out there for the faulty switches/buttons. Alot of guys have trouble with them. Hopefully the dealer can help you out, I think the switches are pretty costly.
