Here is a pick of my heep with the 44044 installed in the rear. There have been numerous questions about these lately. The Cardboard is up to show you how far it takes the rearend back with NEW 38.5. I have AE (Avalanche Engineering) Comp Corners on. I think that when they flex the tire will stuff nice. With just the 44044 front and rear it has stretched me too 101.
I will have to say that when I installed the Springs on the front. It is all that the drag link wanted to get out that far. But just 1.5" is alot when you are stuffing the tire in there. I went from catching on the corners to rubbing on the insides.

Also for anyone that has that AE corners. What do you so for your underside for covers. Or do you run them like that?

Now all I am waiting on is AE to send me my locks and I can get the 14 Bolt under there for good and measure for my new High Angle. Ordered a new CV Rockcrawler for the front from Jess (High Angle Driveline). I will have pics of all that when it comes as well as the locks. Call that man he will hook you UP!

I am assuming this is on a YJ...if so then could you post some pics of the Jeep as it sits right now with the axles mocked-up and tires on with the 44044s...I want to see it as a whole if possible (I am in the middle of doing this exact same thing with my jeep)...I just need 1K to drop on my AE Wheels so I can get the axles mocked-up then my high-angles will be ordered:D:D:D

Well I dont have a pic of it with both front and rear. I have the axle shafts and all the goods off the front. I am at school and work two days on the weekends. I have to pick up my 8 lug outers. When I do I will post it. The only thing that I am going to have to change is the shackle angle on the rear. I was going to try and use buggies but I dont how they will work with that heavy 14 Bolt......

Boomerang shackles will help if your shackles are leaning to far back.

I'm curious . How did you get a 101" wheelbase out of the 44044's? They are only offset by 2 inches so using them front and rear will only give you 4 inches. Did you do anything else to your jeep like a shackle reversal up front or move any mounts? Are the springs that much longer than the stock YJ's? Lrt us know......

I havent had the tires on the front yet that is just what I was guessing by holding the tape in the middle of hub.

Cool. Can you let us know what the final WB is when you get it together?
Are you running a shackle reversal up front? If so how far do you have the mounts moved ahead?

Hey bigjeepinYJ, where in southern IN are you located? If you are close, I wouldn't mind swinging by and checking it out. I am looking into going with the 44044's as well.

We live in Brownstown Indiana..It is one hour or so south of Indy and about and hour north of the KY line.

Where are you from here in this great state?

You will not hit 100" wb, by just changing to 44044 springs.

Exactly, you will be at 98". Trust me, i have done it on (2) YJ's Mine is just under 100" because of the SR.

Cool! Well I guess that I will have to go shackle reversal. I am about out of funds. Just purchased a atlas and high angles. You know my Jeep was just fine until I met all you guys!

We hear ya man I could have built my YJ with 33s and gone everywhere local no problem, but I have to go big Pirate Style, and run the 38s.I just did the same spring swap, and when I did my sr I moved the front axle forward 2in. which keeps you off the fenders.

How did you change your steering linkage to allow for the foward movment. Yeah I would like to be out of the fenders!:)

I am running a d44 front out of a waggy with 8lug outers to match my c&c 14bolt.

I'm bolting together my front tonight

44044's w/ HP60 and wagoneer pitman arm. I'm running the tie-rod on the knuckle and draglink to hi-steer.

I'll let you know how it all lines up. Shackles are 5.75" hole to hole.

Could you get us some pics of that setup. I am picking up a 44 front end with the 8 lug outers and everything today. I think that I might use the knuckles to go histeer. I dont know if they will all bolt up. I am going to do some searching today.

Got the 44044s bolted up to the HP60 last night with 5.75" shackles.

Shackle angle is slightly less than vertical, I'd say ~70 degrees. Once I've got it all back together and the springs settle a little it should be perfect.

I used a 60 from a '79 F350 and it was a blot in affair (after gearing and a total rebuild).

I'll get some pics tonight if I can. By the time I finished and cleaned up it was after 11:00pm so I just went to bed though.

I'll be using shock mounts on the spring plates (so my axle is clean) and F250 towers a little further forward of the stock ones. Anyway if I get some pics you'll see it. No measurements for steering yet I'll try to get those tonight also.

That would be great. Yeah I know wheeling does suck somewhat around here. I have 200 acres in Clearspring that I am going to cut up a little and make some trails threw the rocks there. We are hopefully going to travel to TN, NM, CA, sometime this summer with some other guys. Send me a PM and with some contact info and we can hook up!

P.S. Have you ever been to "The Mountain" near Maumee Reservation near nashville or bloomington. We saw a bunch of zuks there from bedford when I had my CJ before it was stolen!

There use to be! Most didn't have alot of rock in them, but they were pretty off camber and long steep hill climbs. But they have since been closed due to a few lawsuits!!

Got the F&R 44044s mounted up with 5.75" shackles. I added different sleeves to the short side bushing on the waggy's in order to run 1/2" bolt instead of 9/16". I did this because I would've had to drill out the shackles for 9/16" (wrangler is 1/2" stock) and for some reasons I couldn't find 9/16" bolt/nuts at Ace, Home Depot, or Lowes. All were sold out, so I used 1/2":D

After tieing everything in last night I didn't have time to put in t-case/shafts but I did measure the wheelbase/diff clearance.

My wheelbase is roughly (and I mean rough    ) 98-99". When I previously measured it with 4.5" alcans it was 94.5.

The springs brought me close to my desired 100" WB so I'm happy. The Jeep will be extremely tall with these and if I didn't have a flat skid I'd lose my 2" body lift.

Very happy with them though.

My shaved 14Bolt is with 1/4" of the clearance that my HP60. If I had not taken the big lip off the 14 bolt and smoothed the lines it would've had about 1" less clearance.

I'll post up pics and junk after I find out where to steal a digi-cam from:flipoff2:
