Methinks some people get too caught up in the aesthetics of a motor swap... :flipoff2: :D

It's never really done is it? :) I think I can have the swap done by the end of next month, but it's hard to tell. I keep discovering new "challenges" with swapping the drivetrain in. All I know is that I'm going to the Dakota challenge, so it's got to be all figured out by then!

Blah, blah, blah...you sound like me:flipoff2:

I bet Wiggert wants your junk out of his shop pretty soon:D

Looks good. :)

Can't wait to see it at the next REDLINERS run.

I have seen pics of your junk, Silly. Tbone would laugh at your color-coordination;) :flipoff2:

Your kidding right? Of course he wants it out of the shop. How else could I get this done so fast. The fact that his hoist is totally tied up is good motivation.

Does this mean that your going to be done for Dakota too?

Wow that is a clean engine, what did you pull it out of?
What drive train are you running behind it?
Which motor mounts, or are you going with custom made mounts?
Which radiator are you running?
What kind of power steering unit are you planning on using?

Looks good,

When are you changing your name to Triple T? :D

Well I hope to, but it depends on how much OT I can get in this summer $$$ is the limiting factor..... It's tough wheelin with all you rich guys:D

Anyway, I hope they get some rain out in Rapid, they might not be allowed to have it if it is too dry, cross your fingers.

Thanx for the compliment.
The engine is a 5.0 HO out of a 89 Lincon Mark VII, and I have been degreasing that @#$% thing for half the winter. I know it's going to get muddy, but it looks nice when I'm putting it in!

Motor mounts are from Novak. They are pretty basic, and looking back I could have made my own, but I figure I really have enough to do right now.

The tranny is the Ford AOD that came with the motor - it has been modified with a TransGo shift kit and a AutoTrans low stall torq converter, and bolted to a dana 20.

The pump is a saginaw out of a 85 Enconoline hooked up to a Ford air conditioning elimination bracket. I am running a pully out of a 95 mustang- It looks to be about .75" smaller in diameter than the Econolines and the Lincons.

I am unsure about the radiator. I was looking into that now and was hoping it would have been addressed in last weeks "TOTW"

Monday, It looks like you have been through this already. It's all worth it right? How are the CTM's holding up to the 5.0? I put a set into my 44 front after I blew out a ujoint with the 4cyl. It seemed like a good idea.

Ya know, I was looking into it but without a really good reason, they don't let you change your name. Sorry.

Rich? HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!

HA!

I'm about ready to put the wife to "work" just to finish this thing!:smokin:

Let me know if you need a hand finishing the rig, I'm real good at making things look "all pretty like". :flipoff2:

T Bone,
It is well worth the effort.
If I had to do it all over again, and could pick any engine I wanted, i would do it again with a 5.0 H.O.
I consider it one of the best engine choices you could ever make for a Jeep.
It is powerfull, reliable, lightweight, and compact. They will run on any angle, they dont tend to run hot, and parts are cheap.

mine came out of an 89 Lincoln Mark VII also.
I went with a Ford Racing B303 Cam, a 93 Cobra Computer, and few other mods. I have a Complete Cobra Manifold and Plennum, but I just havent felt like installing it, the engine runs like a champ already.
I had it Dyno'd at the race track in Las Vegas last year after I installed it, (I was running the E303 cam, and 30lb injectors) , and the computer readout showed it at 272 HP at the rear wheels at about 4700 rpms, I for get what the torque was, but it was around 320ft lbs. I did not like the power curve though of the E303 cam, as the engine wanted to over rev above 2000 RPMs. The B303 cam gives up a bit of HP but maintanes a smoother power band throughout.

Yeah, the CTM's will handle the HP. I have been beating the crap out of mine since October with 38.50x14.50 SX and I havent been able to break them. I have twisted two Warn inner splines, and broken 3 Warn premium locking hubs though,...but at least they are warrantied.
Here is a pic of my install

WowWow, very nice job!

I guess I should ask you - what kind of radiator are you running?

For a radiator I'm running a 79 Scout II 3 core, with room for 4 cores. It's not a bolt in in my 77 CJ, I had to exten the grill opening ~2" on each side, re-do the wiring for the head lights. Plus If I didn't have a 3" body lift it would never fit. Even had to dent the hood a little to clear the cap.

I see you've a Saginaw pump, which pulley did you use? How did you make it bolt to the A/C eliminator bracket?
