I'm looking at doing a gear swap soon and wanted to find a good shop to do it. I'm working in Hayward for the summer so somewhere in the bay area would be nice. does anyone know a good shop for a gear swap and locker install?

thanks

Don't waste your money its not that hard just read all the 50 thousand guides on the net and take your time.

Besides, if you look at the shops around here with the cost of labor and parts to do the swap its almost $1,000 an axel. I'd rather try it and screw something up before I hand over $2k for some lower gears.

Yeah, that would be ideal.... But since I'm living on my job site in a 5th wheel with no garage or tools 4 hours away from anyone I know who can do this for me and I would like to get back on the trail for labor day... that doesnt work does it.
And nobody even remotely answered my question about where to find a shop.:flipoff2:

PM Welndmn on this bb. He lives in Brentwood (about an hour from Hayward). He's done a few of mine and does a great job ;)

Second option- River City Differentials (GearMan on this bb) in Rancho Cordova. He did my HP D44 ARB and does great work! He's about 2 hours from you.

I hope this helps ;)

As long as we are recomending people that are hours from Hayward, Ill recomend Eric at Performance Drivetrain in Cotati, about 1 hour fifteen minutes from Hayward.
