I was told by a freind who owns the Mazda in question that it was made by Ford, so don't laugh at me if its not I don't know any better.
Its a 97 Mazda B300 with the 3.0 V6 that he totaled and were turning into a truggy kinda craphole thing with whatever we have laying around its pretty funny looking but its a git r done vehicle with giant booger stick welds and a custome stack pulled out of the bed with duel glasspacks and tracker cap things Whatver they are.
I just was wondering what kind of axels were under it. I can't ID for shit. The front is coiled and looks like a solid axel but acts like independent said it was twin ibeam.
Any information would help. What size tires would be a limiting factor on this and would a D44 front be better?

Your guess is as good as mine. Axel looks like its just a rod in the middle holding two pieces together and the axels splits in half. I think he should just swap it so its not so complicated. Just looks complicated the clearence on it is pretty stupid.
Were going to start relocating the shock mount sto the top of the axel but were not sure if it would be worth it or not. His goal would be to run 33s or 35s and found a good deal on recapped 36s for $200 and might get them.

the 97 b3000 is basically a 3.0 liter ford ranger
in 98 they switched to IFS, so prior to then it will be TTB.

Cool, know what the rear is? I looked up on summit and i keep finding parts for either a Ford 71/2in or a Dana35.
Either of which would be cool to rip out of it.

it should be a 8.8 28 spline.

33s should be fine on it right? Maybe 35s? He needs some major clearence in the front...

Yeah, most likely its a HP D35 with the Twin Traction Beam suspension, but there is a small chance its a D28/35 hybrid axle (POS).
Rear axle is probably the Ford 7.5", although the 8.8 has been seen in some 3.0L trucks (not sure if its only in '98+ models though).
I would check out www.therangerstation.com for some info about identifying whats under there, as well as mod info specific to those trucks.
Those axles will stand up to 33-35" tires no problem unless you are downright abusive on things.

Thanks for stealing my thread!
Good info I'll look into it. He wants to just swap the shit over but I keep telling him its not worth the effort. He is an idiot.

TRS.com is about the best place for information when it comes to ranger based vehicles.
