Well I ended up getting some 2.5" exhaust cut outs with the caps that are just held on by wing nuts. I couldnt find the 2.5" cable operated ones that I wanted. Anyways here is a clip of it with the caps off. IT sounds a lot better when taking off than when just revving it up. This is my '01 dodge ram 4wd.

Go hardcore and make your own out of bike brake setup. Come on you know you want to try it....

FYI they have push button electrical systems now, cable is a thing of the past on the market I guess.

Um, actually he looked into every thing there was. Electric will not keep working after it sees water/mud. One outing, and you're done.

As for the making my own. I have been thinking about ways to do it. And I think that I can somewhat easy. Instead of having butterflys inside of them like the ones you can buy just use a regular cap that will go on the end and have a nut welded to the cut out and a bolt on the cap. And then when you push and pull the cable it pushes the cap up and down and it will open and close. I dont think that it would be all that hard. THe hard part would be getting it to seal with it closed.

Also they cost from $300 per set all the way up to $600 per set for the eletric ones.
