ok so im looking at the broncograveyard leaf spring rockers for my 79 F150 and im wondering who uses em and how they work for flex. they look like they would be great, since there isnt any revolver shackle for large truck it looks like a better alternative.... one of my issues is that jbg only shows them to fit 66-77 bronco's and i would be looking to put em on my F150. anyone know if they could be used on my F150???? or are the bronco leafs too skinny???? heres the link http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/i-13262_leaf_spring_rocker_mount__1966_-_77.htm

Looks like something else to break.

Also, how do you set up a traction bar with those?

Revolver's have pretty much been de-bunked in favor of a good set of springs with the proper rate and load capacity.

The springs you're currently using are made to carry weight and keep the axle located... not flex.

looks cheesy to me

why would a trac bar be needed???? from the looks of it they dont allow any front to back movement...... at the moment im just planning on running stock springs (as far as i can tell they are stock) with the flipped Sky rear spring hanger to get my rear lift...... if i need more lift/flex then im pretty sure i will end up investing in a set from donovan spring company... these just caught my eye as being a good source of flex...

traction bars don't limit front to back movement. they stop axle wrap which causes wheel hop and loss of traction. :shaking:
that set up looks like it would only increase wheel hop even more

They were tried on an FSB by dblue351 and were pretzeled after some serious runs. Look around on fullsizebronco.com for info on them.

I know one guy who ran them back about 6 years ago(before anyone made them) BUT, he also had 3/4 elip springs, with shackles on both ends, and a triangulated 4 link to locate the axle, so all the srpings did was support the axle.

youd be better off getting springs with orbit eyes. atleast then if they fail the axle wont just fall off on one side.

I ran them for three years on my previous Bronco suspension and had no problems, with dozens of trips through the Hammers. They do what they're suppose to do, allow full spring flex with no twisting. The only thing to keep in mind is they add some lift so you'll have to buy new springs if you're keeping the same ride height. I don't know if they would fit on an F150.

In the sep/oct 04 bronco driver they did a whole spread on a fullsize bronco that included a roll over that the driver attributed to these rockers.
"The rockers cause the body of the truck to tilt more toward the low side of an embankment than the body would tilt without them." and "observers who witnessed the entire rollover commented on how quickly the Bronco rolled when it reached a certain tilt angle"
Maybe they contributed to the rollover, or maybe it was the fact that he had just lifted in on 39s and this was his first trip out. I think that I would put the $250 elsewhere personally.

I don't see why they wouldn't work on a fullsize as long as the spring width is the same. There shouldn't be much of a weight issue. My buddy's 76 EB weighs in a 5200 fully loaded and my old 83 FSB weighed in at 4700 fully loaded, both on 35s, his with 4 inches of lift, mine stock height with cutouts.

The shackle flip is a better way to go. Those rocker thingies look like a gimmick part to me.

Tornado anyone?

What do you get for $125? When I part out a truck, I keep the front hangers to use for shackle flips.

Not mention a serious point of failure. Take a pass.

Pro, put a set on the Captain and see if Ivan notices when he comes to get it.

Hmmm, I might have to add that to the list along with the tuna in the heater vents and all the vato accessories I can find. I can't wait for the first time he puts it in reverse and it starts beeping and saying "warning, backing up" in spanish. Thats what happens when you break your junk and leave it at your buddies house
