So where do you have your hi-lift mounted inside the truck?

I had it on a rear tire carrier...but I have ditched it cause its a pig and I do not have a full size spare right now.

Where inside have you managed to store it? Its the regular length one. I piddled with it awhile this afternoon and couldn't find a place I liked.

no pics but I mounted mine in front of the back seat where the bed floor drops down to meet the front floor pan. I welded to 1/2" pieces of all thread to the vertical drop, wing nuts are used to attach the jack to the all thread to try and ease accesability.

As little as mine ever gets used I have room between the tailgate and bumper that I plan on welding on mounts to bolt the bar and handle to , and just keep the other pieces in a toolbag.

Vote #2 for the same style as "ih4ever", been mounting mine like that for years.

I haven't mounted mine yet but it is a big piece of steel in a rollover to have in the cab. Mine will be on one of the bumpers or something. Scares me to think of it breaking loose and whacking someone.

Mine is in my shop leaning against the wall, and thats as close as it ever gets to the scout anymore.

That is where mine is too. Still need to make a rear bumper/tire carrier and that is where it will go as ballast.

A 60" hi-lift fits nicely behind the front seats on the floor. Although I like the tire carrier option much better.

Ditto. I use a bottle jack on the trail since the Hi-lift doesn't get close to where it needs to be to get the suspension off the ground.

yeah i bet with those coils, everything is still on the ground when the highlift is all the way up:flipoff2: just bring some extra chain, and wrap it around the axle a few times and then lift it with the high lift

I used to stand my 48" hi-lift up behind the front seat, and used the bolt-together rollbar with a longer bolt through the jack. Worked great until I 1) put 3pt belts in and 2) needed to go to a 60" jack.

The 60" jack has the base at the rear corner of the tailgate, and the top of the jack sits between the B hoop rollbar and the quarter panel. Not currently strapped in, but wedged so it has to stay between the cage and the quarter panel - and my head doesn't usually belong there.

In my street Scout is the old 48" jack. It sits on the rear floor, "top/handle" under the rear seat, to the outside of the seat latch, with the base against the tailgate and sitting under the 33" spare tire.

Oh, Snoopy.. use a short length of chain to chain the axle to the frame before you start lifting with the Hi-Lift, and it works great w/o unloading the suspension.

I know it's not inside but I just used a couple pieces of angle and welded a 7/16 bolt on the bottom inside to form a U.
Then I just pass it thru a hole in the jack and use a nut on the back side. I plan to weld finger grips on the nut to make them wing nuts later!

The one thing I have to remember, is not to mount it where its gonna get damaged in a roll or something. These jeep guys who mount thier high lift to the front bumper then rear end somebody. High lifts arent that strong. I'll probably mount mine under my rear stringer, so in a roll it wont get damaged.

I have often wondered about that when you see some one build big heavy duty bumpers for protection and then they go and mount stuff all over them:confused:

Got it as a close out item from 4WP's. It was right at $100.
I was just getting ready to build me an aluminum one when i saw them.

The mounts were seperate. They are not listed on the site so you have to specifically ask for them.
Mine are the 6" ones.

We drive onto the ferry in Palermo Friday night.
Arrive in Genoa Sat night. Then on up into Switzerland/Germany/Netherlands and maybe Holland/France/ and the UK.
Checked the distance to Paris but it is 380 miles off track of our route so I may not get a pic of the Scout in front of the Eiffel tower!!
But the Scout in the Vatican City is a very real possibility!!

Mine sits on the passenger floor, between the door and the seat. Base at the step, top sits up toward the front of the floor.

Nice and out of the way, easy to get to on the occasions that I need it. Really doesn't seem to interfere with the passenger, they just step over it. Its not bolted down or anything, I probably should somehow. The odds of it getting between the seat and the door are slim, but in a nasty roll anything can happen.

This is a 48" unit, a 60" would easily fit. Best part IMO is that it is fully assembled. I would hate my high-lift the way many people store it were you have to assemble it to use it, typically when I want/need it, I want/need it NOW.
