: Anyone up for some wheeling?!
FrankenRover 04-22-2002, 09:03 AM I have some vacation coming up and am looking to do some wheeling. Anyone up for some mid-week (Monday-Friday) wheeling? Preferably on the harder stuff. I am willing to travel two days drive from Houston. Here are my weeks off:
May 13-17th
July 8-12th

Rover Addiction 04-22-2002, 10:16 AM Damn, I wish I could go!
Have fun!
BTW, did you get a chance to measure your front brake lines?
Thanks,
John
RockRover 04-22-2002, 10:55 AM Billy...Let's do Cruses! I'll be done by then and I was thinking this morning that I'd love to use Broad into Habinerro as my betta' test...Easy to pull out of should <gulp> my overkill doesn't hold...Then onto Rotocillo for the true hammer.
Either that or we can hit the Penrose system (Pueblo CO.)...I've heard that Patriot is harder than ever...But as you know, once your "in" your IN! I'm sure Matt (RW) would join us as well as many other lookie-loo D90 "your stupid, but wish I could" owners...Ed Maggoffin could even put us up too if we're goin' stag...
Another possibility is Mnt. Blanka...You'd love that one for the scenery...Or of course there's Farmington...Heat shouldn't be all that bad either....Then that other guy...What's his name? Lives in Durango...O'well...I'm sure he'd be in for sure as well!

Let me know if you are heading down to Durango in May. I am down for some Farmington action if you think your CVs can handle it :D. I am moving to Colorado Springs after I graduate in June. I may be down for some of the trails there as well as long as I am moved by then (still looking for place with a garage to hold my vehicle)
The waterfall trail or the second playground (random obstacles to attempt, but not a trail) might be fun to do.
Anonymous Durango kid.
FrankenRover 04-22-2002, 12:16 PM Sounds great Doug. Which week would be better? I am up for anyplace as long as it is hard (ordering the 38" SX's today!!).

Rover Addiction 04-22-2002, 12:40 PM Bill, what changes are you making to fit the 38" SXs?
Are you going for 38x12.50R15 or 38.5x14.50R15?
You're planning on running your same beadlocks, right?

rhills 04-22-2002, 12:44 PM Bill,
My d90 is in pieces and won't have it back together till the last part of the summer (late July). We are planning to hit Blanca, Independence, Holy Cross at that time.
However, if you meet Doug down here, I would love to catch a ride one of the days (or just walk over to RR) and watch you break those 1-ton cv's with the 38" tires:p . I would also like to see if Doug can really keep up with you on his over sized tires:rasta:

Jtisdale 04-22-2002, 03:01 PM Bill,
Do those 38"s come with a Dana 60? I'll be interested to hear how the CVs do with those meats!

FrankenRover 04-22-2002, 05:47 PM Didn't get around to ordering today, but plan on getting 38x12.5x15 SX's mounted on my MRT 15x10" beadlocks. We shall see on the CV's. John P's seem to hold up to 37" tires with lots of right foot. So maybe with my earthworm crawling style they will hold together. I just need to drop in some new maxidrive rear halfshafts (as I don't have a non-twisted ashcroft or oem shaft in the 4 pair in the garage).

ps. No major mods planned to accomidate the 38's as I already run a higher lift than all you 37" guys. I will just drop the rear bumpstops to keep the tires off of the top of the fenders.
RockRover 04-23-2002, 08:33 AM I can see D60's in Billy's future!
Heck with the price of all the CV's, and half-shafts he's broken/twisted already he'd have a rear 35 splined 60 dialed in, and be half way to a 60 front! :flipoff2:
Let's rock!...I'm ssooooooo stoked to get rollin' again. I'm thinkin' of taking a week off to get this thing DONE! Well...At least rolling again. This onesie, twosie day a week is killing me!
