: Weekend report, 7-22/7-23
Urban Wheeler 07-23-2006, 07:44 PM Saturday I hung out with my jeep friends and drank beer while they had 1:6 rc battles.(Walmart crawlers) Today I went to a state park gun range (damn Indiana hicks :D) My dad started with an AR-15. We shot at 25 yard pistol targets at 50 yards. I have never held this gun, much less shot it. He scored an 88, I scored an 87. :D Then we moved to the 25 yard range, same targets, but shooting .22 pistols. We kinda ran out of time for him to shoot, but I scored a 93.
The only thing I did IH-wise was change the oil in the Cub Cadet.
ih4ever 07-23-2006, 07:49 PM well i replaced my front pump and torque converter on my tranny. installed it on sat. then i was going to get the t/c up but my dad had a hissy fit :shaking: and decided to do other shit instead so im hopin to get it in sometime during the week...
Mechanos 07-23-2006, 08:23 PM Did some more work (well, actually, I watched someone else do some machining) on my SRW 14b hubs for my fat-ass project. More on that later, in the fat-ass thread... when the time is right. :flipoff2:
scout254 07-23-2006, 08:25 PM SAT&SUN - went wheeling :D Damn carb issues, leaky rear brk line.... but otherwise no major problems. Oh.... a new dent too.:flipoff2:
budget76 07-23-2006, 09:59 PM Actually a pretty productive weekend for me. Got lots of little things done.
Biggest achievement was re-did my whole exhaust system, again. Also got my fiberglass half doors mounted onto my ss2 inserts, fixed my fuel gauge, speedo, and hooked up my tach. also picked up a hood scoop off ebay and got the rest of the parts for my weber 32 36 conversion.
binderbound 07-23-2006, 10:06 PM Sat and Sun- traded my realtor a cage for a house, so I got started.

Still have the rear part cuz its a family cage. Its a 80% dd street rig so im trying to keep it simple. Gotta finish it so I can get the keys and start moving.:flipoff2: :flipoff2:
reuben 07-23-2006, 10:08 PM I wheeled, then tried to drive through the river, then had rocktractor pull me out. while we were trying to get my junk running again a nascar pit crew stole my 44's and put them on mikes rig. he made it across the river, he also had 4 guys in the bed so the ass end would not float away like mine. good times.
Eagle-Mark 07-23-2006, 11:29 PM Wheeling!
Too damm hot to get much done. More parts arrived, but still no 14 bolt disk brackets, hopefully soon. I did cut my rear fender on Friday. Looks :cool2:

Scout Broker 07-24-2006, 12:22 AM Dan, Your realtor must be wicked cool. Nice job on the cage so far. I can’t wait to roll it over and see if it works......I thought you were going to give a Gold Box and the cage for the house.
johnnyx 07-24-2006, 01:37 AM The only "IH work" I did was take a fellow Scouter and his family out to look at homes on Saturday in the heat - 114 degrees....
Sunday late (just returned home) - after a good monsoon on my way back home noticed a Jeep Cherokee with it's parking lights on, in the landscaping, in front of a tree and high-centered on a rock, facing the wrong direction. Went to grab the hi-lift and tow strap from 1 mile away...returned and the cops were writing/measuring/doing their thing. Turns out they just went a little to fast around the turn and lost control. No one can drive in the rain here. :shaking:
One other guy stopped to help just before I did - he later confesses when I ask if he knows these teenagers... "umm..you had to ask... I'm the dad...I've just decided he's going to be on his own insurance in about a week..."
The officers were thinking tow-truck/crane/something as it was up on the rocks pretty good up front and 3 feet directly behind was a big tree. I told the cops to give me 10 minutes and I could get it out without further damage to the landscaping or the Jeep. "You sure about that sir?" "Uh...yeah...I have an Int'l Scout." :) (I didn't say I drive it, I just said I have one. :flipoff2: )
We hi-lifted the front a couple times (stock flimsy bumper), put some big rocks under the tire, 3 point turn and it was out. I think the cops let the kids off with only paying for a few plants they destroyed. (I was a crazy kid too back in the day, so it wasn't like anyone was freaking out - just a minor "oops." ). The dad thanked me for helping and I was outa there. :) Crap...it's 12:30 am....

Find me a cheap industrial space and I'll trade you my home made full floater kit. Hell,I'll set your gears up too:p
Oh yeah... welcome noob:flipoff2:
SSGTWC 07-24-2006, 04:21 AM Started getting things ready and packed for Salina, Ks. next week. Have to go down there and work for the next 2 months.
Yard work yesterday
Snoopy 07-24-2006, 08:15 AM Was supposed to go wheeling but a mishap at the brake place ~ read they didn't finish the job ~ kept me home wrenchin for a Saturday delivery.
Diesel Smoke 07-24-2006, 11:02 AM Saturday - Got the last bits of Project Rock Scout contained in one place and out of my parents garage. I couldn't believe some of the stuff I found, it was like "what the hell did we build this for??" Moved up into my room at my parents place and started to pack things up for storage. Now that I am out, my parents want to remodel. They also installed AC, damn parents!:flipoff2: After the Binder Bee wrap up meeting I headed down to Corvallis to help a buddy finish his patio, he was Baton training as he's a reserve deputy and dislocated his left shoulder.
Sunday - Up bright and early to get started working. Laying a stone patio in 100 degree heat isn't my idea of fun. So we started bright and early and were done by one. The really nice thing is the patio was on the west side of the house, so it stayed shaded until the last of the concrete work was done. Showered, then went and saw Clerks II.
On the way to the movie we were drivng my buddy's wife's rental, she got re-ended last week and her cars at the shop. As we were cruising down some back roads to Corvallis we came across a domestic dispute. Some guy was walking down the street and his wife was following in her car. We were just going to blow it off, but as we drove away the guy started beating on the car. Andy being the good little reserve deputy he is called it in. As we were talking to dispatch the lady who's car was getting beat drove by us, so we followed, the entire time Andy was talking with dispatch, driving with a his arm in a sling, needless to say this isn't as fun as it may sound. Long story short the cops finally caught up with us, pulled the lady over and went back to talk to the guy. Turns out the guy had a warrent out for his arrest, so they hauled him in. Andy got a great "adda-boy" from the responding deputies and I got a cool story!!
Drove home 100 miles in 100 degree heat on Sunday, not really all that bad, just kepy hydrated and sweated off 5-6 pounds, gotta love black vinyl Scout interiors with no AC:flipoff2:
Docfranco 07-24-2006, 11:04 AM Finally wheeled the new 1 tons and pit bull tires. Went to pre run gold mountain for the night run we planned on sat night and as i went to check the rear atlas shift lever the fawking thing fell off in my hand...WTF? I pulled the rubber boot to the side hoping the pivot bolt just backed out. NO, the POS little necked down bolt sheared at the shift lever. We had enough time to pull it out drill it out and tap it for a 1/2 grade 8. The night run had a ton of thunder & lightning, next day ran john bull with only blowing out my left warn hub and minor hydro assist tweaking on the trail. had a blast...:flipoff2: :flipoff2:
Harvester of Sorrow 07-24-2006, 02:56 PM Friday::
Flew home at 8:30pm...Went to a :smokin: rock show at 10:00pm...was tapping the female ass of my companion at 2:45am.
Saturday:
Accumulated the parts and hose for redo'ing my fuel lines and pump layout. Way too hot to work.
Sunday:
Sat in 100*+ sunshine and replaced most of my fuel delivery system...No one carries 1/2" fuel line except for industrial component stores...of which are not open on the weekends...So all is replaced except for the 1/2 lines coming out of the fuel cell...
Also fixed my winch and found out why it stopped working and shorting out on the last run 2 weeks ago.
Monday::
Came into office to find out they need me to go to Tulsa, Oklahoma tomorrow for the night and possibly into Thursday...:shaking: Sucks being needed and valuable to your company sometimes...
I might not have enough time to get everything done to my rig for a planned excursion into the rocks of Washington now...:shaking:
Binder 07-24-2006, 04:36 PM Competed Werock goldendale, came in middle of the pack somewhere.:shaking: Courses were much harder then I have ever seen them. Much carnage for everyone including myself. One flop to the driver side and one hard roll to the passenger side over to the roof. I haven't looked over the rig yet but so far what I know of- Wasted hood and cowl/ dash area, skins both sides-Smashed electric fan-Severely bent two front links-Broke U joint in front d shaft ruining axle yoke. Overall my rig held up well considering. Had a great time.:D
binderbasher 07-25-2006, 10:48 AM Fri, sat, sun I worked doubles to get some scout cash:D
Brandon 07-25-2006, 11:00 AM I welded up a new jungle gym in my scout for my Scout to play on ;)

RustoleumWhite 07-25-2006, 01:01 PM Monday through Friday I busted my hump to spread, roll, rake, roll, rake, roll, rake...... 30 yards of topsoil to add 3000 sqft more lawn to my backyard. Hydroseed on Friday, set up sprinklers, got to work for 4 hours then drive 3.5 hours over the mountains to judge this little hack-job 'we-rock' rock-crawl comp or something. Got back home Sunday night at like 8:00pm or so.
It was hot as hell, 100+ both days, and dry and dusty, but a good time. This week I get to chill and make of for my wife's B-day we kind of skiped for the good of the yard and getting seed down as soon as we could.
