I'm about to start a cage project and am looking for some cage picts. I have taken the backseat out and am mostly concerned with protecting the front 2 seats. It needs to fit under a hardtop. Show em! :smokin:

Well I went through the "show your IH" thread and found some interesting ideas. I'm thinking about using continuous pieces along the sides and making the spreader bars go from left to right. The cage would only be for the front seats which will be tied in. I don't see needing a whole bunch of extra tube to cage a rear when there aren't seats back there.

This cage thing is part of a 'makeover' that I am about to dive into. I did the 3/4T axle swap and have wheeled it maybe a dozen times in the past few years since. It is geared 4.10's and frankly it is a dog. :mad3: It weighs too damn much and I'm wanting to change some stuff up a bit. I am planning to ditch my custom bumpers, sliders, existing rollbar, and backseat which should shed about 500#. It is getting regeared with 5.13's. I am looking to change the tires and wheels to something a bit lighter although I keep running into conflicts on tire wheel choices. The current cage is a simple 4 point but is made of .250" boiler tubing!!! :shaking: 2.5" od and it has got to go in favor of some lighter and stronger stuff.

You guys have any other suggestions or recomendations?

Before you pull all that stuff off, you should see how it runs with the 5.13's. You also may want to consider a terra low kit for the t-case. The bumpers, and sliders will keep you from tearing your stuff up.

I have full width 3/4 ton running gear and 38's and my scout halls ass, but I have an auto.

I would end up building new bumpers/winch mount and sliders but with tube as it would be much lighter. Those bumpers are beef!!

Do you have lower gears in the transfere case? I would skip the diet and go for better gearing:grinpimp:
