I just bought a set of Hard doors for my 89 YJ. The passenger side door appears to be hanging too high and does not line up with the striker. How do I lower the door? The driver's side is a bit too low, but I can easily adjust it up with a spacer. Any help is appreciated.

I just went through this a couple months ago when I finally got a set of hard doors for my 93YJ. you can looseten the bolts in the door hinges, both on the door, and on the body, and move the door almost any way you need to. which type of striker do you have, do you have the "twist handle" or "paddle handle" doors? if you have the paddle handle doors, and a striker pin, you should be able to loosten the striker pin, to line it up once you get the door lined up with the body.
also, this is where I had isues, once you get the door lined up with the tub, check teh gap at the windshield frame. I had to adjust the windshield frame back towards the door about 1/4" to get everything to line up propperly.

I have the paddle handle doors. My tub is rhino lined inside, so moving the tub hinges my prove problematic unless I cut the lining. I'll try loosening the door hinges and the striker. The door has to come 'down' a bit, I hope I can get enough movement. Thanks for your tips.

Be careful trying to loosen those torx head bolts on the hinges. They strip real easy. :mad3: They are usually very hard to break free because they are painted over and the paint is like glue holding them in. You can pull off the door panel and apply some heat on the backside of the bolts to soften the paint up and break them free. If you dont care about the paint you can heat the outside ot the bolts as well. If you move the hinges the paint will be messed up under the hinges anyway. Good luck.

I am repainting, so I have the doors completely torn down. I could see the bolt threads from the inside so I hit them all with PB Blaster and they came out with relative ease. I love PB Blaster!
