Got the Defender back today, finally! The RoverTym lift is greatness - it took actually driving it to convince me that there were springs out there better than OME.

The Macs are super-beefy, and the 4.10s drive well on regular roads. The highway was another matter (straight from the shop down to Austin). The speedo was so off I may as well disconnect it, but I don't think I was breaking 70 the whole time.

As for the driveshaft question - I'm going to need a new one. It munches ever so slightly when I take my foot off the gas, or put it on, at speed. I've got a trip to Barnwell next week, and after that I'll be talking to Austin Drive Train (probably) about going double cardon.

Other than that, all is great. It looks even more like a badass now than it did before, and I can't wait to play with the air lockers after I leave work tonight!

Just wanted to report on my happiness. I'll try to post some pics later tonight or tomorrow, depending on how much daylight I have.

Which do you suspect is munching, the front or back?

Oh, its the front. The back is fine.

I'm running by Austin Drivetrain on Wednesday to see what they'll quote me at for a CV up front. I'd call Tom Woods, but don't have the time to take all the measurements I'd need this week.
