Personally, I think it is going to be too light for any SERIOUS mud action. You might want to consider a couple of pilons welded to the bumpers for traction. Seriously.

Seriously Too light even with all of that steel 1/4" wall'd

By the looks of that subframe it will be tall enough for 66" tires. 31" wide tires look cool but they suck in the mud. Probably wont sink far though:D :D :D When do you think you will have it done? Hopefully I will see ya at the bogs this summer!!
(and even though they suck in the mud I would run'em if I could afford em!!)

I recieved a Miller 210 For X-Mas and I think I have bout' Wore it out!!!! That pic was as of today i should be done in a few weeks!! I built it so when totally aired down it sets on bump stops. Air up 9" for ride height, then air up 9" more till strap hits!
Aired up i could clear 66" but would have to be 0"offset to not hit 4link while turning. My next investment is gotta be a Plasma Cutter which I have found a great deal on (Cut 1" for $1725)

Maybe you cant tell, but its an "Under Construction" picture. He obviously going to add a panrod bar. Or do you wonder how it will go without driveshafts too?:flipoff2: :flipoff2: LOL

Think you could pick up some used monster truck tires?

I once saw an s10 with tractor tires..Dont ask..2wd, tractors were in the rear only.

Paint that thing up nice and people wont know what to think.

You will have to get a "wide load" sign to tow that thing down the road..I dont think you will have her street legal:D

The suspension is a 8" superlift Lockers front&Rear Its going in a 87 2wd Using all the spring hangers that came off the blazer!
Yesterday I bought a NP203 w/ Shifter, a new Muncie PTO, shift cable, TC crossmember, Rear Driveline all for $250 (Did I steal it?)

Wow, wonderful engineering.

I think I need to stop trying to engineer anything and just start using .5 wall tubing.

Interesting rig, very old school. Nothin' wrong with retro. Me being a comp guy, I would have liked to have seen it lower and with tires a little narrower (like 48" tall & 11" wide). And I woulda lost the Rockwells in favor of a 60/14-bolt setup. But, a good comp machine does not always make a good play machine. And this looks to be a good play machine :)

Exactly. Unless he's got something seriously insane under the hood, the odds of him breaking anything on a run are ~ 15% (5% dumb luck, 10% Mr. Murphy)

Go out, Play hard, Drive home. Repeat as needed.

It ain't cheap, light, or elegant, but it's sure as hell servicable and fun.
