Having trouble finding much aftermarket for the 5.8 in terms of performance upgrades. Anyone know of a source? Or even online discussions for hopping up 5.8's? I must be searching with incorrect terms.

Mechanical upgrades to the lower end. That is great, but doing so increases fuel and air needs. How about mods to the fuel system?

Did you mean the 5.4 Triton engine instead? There is a plethora of parts for the 5.8l 351w engine. Intakes, cams, ignition, headers, blocks, heads, cranks, rods...

You can find all the 5.8 info you could ever want over at nloc.net.
The lightning, and standard truck 5.8s are built a bit different, but you can do any of the mods those guys are doing.
There is a TON of info over there.

1 liter ~ 61 ci. 5.8L = 351W. For EFI, you can install bigger injectors, bigger fuel rails, aftermarket pressure regulator, and higher flow fuel pump. Just be sure to pick the right combination of parts that work together.

See how far the stock stuff will take you though. There are lots of people making plenty of power, with stock stuff.

Go over to nloc for the proof.

Dont just assume bigger is better.

nope, never have. I have this thing torn a fair ways down and was thinking about what was possible, and not terribly unreasonable, to do to pop it up. Guess I am just exploring possibilities to weigh against the wallet.

Not being very fluent in the language of engines and fearing I know just enough to get in trouble, I thought I would ask a question. This is a 5.8 from a 90 F250 destined to be mounted in a 72 EB. I figured painting the beast would add about 5 or 6 horses minimum, ya know the visual zoomy effect.

I will go try nloc.net and see what I can find.

Personally I would ditch all the 92 EFI stuff, buy a mustang harness and all the SEFI stuff, and a 351W upper and lower intake.

My engine is a 69 block, world heads, comp roller conversion kit and Motorsports upper/lower and all mustang SEFI stuff with a cobra computer.
I absolutly love the setup, Indead it will cost a bit but I stocked up on all the parts and then put it all together.
I'm in fort collins if you wanted to stop by sometime, I have the whole front clip off right now tubing it out so it would be easy to check it out if you are interested.

Like has been said previously, the aftermarket for the 5.8 is HUGE. Your life will be much easier if you put on a Mustang style intake (GT-40, Edelbrock, Trick Flow) and, for the 72 Bronco, use a harness from http://www.fordfuelinjection.com. From there you can use anything from the Mustang 5.0 aftermarket. Quite frankly, it really sounds like you haven't done much research, as the Windsor series (especially the 5.0) is one of the most aftermarket supported powerplants out there.

www.coasthigh.com, www.windsorfox.com, www.fordmotorsports.com, www.painlesswiring.com i used a 91 5.8l with a 95 mustang cobraR upper and lower and a painless harness in my 89 ranger. worked great. coast high and windsor fox are big helps with 5.0/5.8 build ups. i know you already have your lower end but if you can try to find a 94-97 block only years that came with roller cams

Yeah, well, when you know as little about engines as I do, you need a starting point, or you just sit spinning your wheels getting nowhere. After spending alot of time looking at parts for the 5.0 everywhere and not finding much for the 5.8, I came to the conclusion I was looking for the wrong thing and needed some help.

Sorry if I am wasting board space. Doubt I am the only one out there in the same situation.
