Well don't ask how but somehow a half quart of oil got into my new torque converter instead of the ATF that should of gone in there. So can anyone tell me how to get the oil out or what else I could possibly do to remedy the situation. I thought about leaving it in but I don't know what that would do to the turbo 350, thanks :flipoff2:

pull the converter out and pour the fluid out in a bucket it coms out of the center thing that sticks out. They get heavy fast

if its in the vehicle about all you can do is keep flushing it with ATF until it looks clean. do this by adding ATF, start the engine and run through ALL the gears(you dont have to drive it) then drain refill and repeat until the ATF looks clean.
a little oil wont hurt it, but the more you get out the better, also if the TC has a drain plug that will help

almost forgot, you can also run down to the local tranny shop and have it "power flushed". i think its a gimmick for tranny "cleaning" but it does replace ALL the fluid with new including removing the oil.

Well seeing as there is only a half quart of oil in there total I can't just pour it out. Because the spout or whatever goes all the way to the bottom all the oil drains to the sides before it could ever get out. So I guess that means I need to take it to get power flushed or whatever at the tranny shop. Maybe they will actually do it for free seeing as they told me to put the oil in in the first place!

You could finish pouring atf in the converter and then drain it all out. A little oil won't hurt much. Another thing you could do if its already in the vehicle pull a cooler line and turn the motor on and let the pump push out all the fluid and then refill the trans with new atf.

I really don't think 1/2 a quart of oil is going to make a huge impact on your trans seeing as how it takes around 11 quarts to fill a totally empty 350.
In other words you only have 16oz of motor oil mixed with 336 oz of ATF or 21:1
Or do what Rhino said if your really worried and flush it after you get it all togeather and running but I'd only do it once.
Re-read you last post and I seem to remember a tranny buddy telling me something about puting in a little 30W oil when you have a freshly rebuilt trans & empty TC but it's been years.
