: TJ Flares and bumstops installed...
wngrog 04-22-2002, 05:40 PM Sorry for the play-by-play, but I got my TJ Flares installed and installed the bumpstops in the front.
I extended them 2" to accomidate keeping the curve in my front fenders...
wngrog 04-22-2002, 05:42 PM Same rock pile too.....
I promise for Moab pictures next!!!
Big DW 04-22-2002, 05:44 PM ...we will take the play by play...nice cruiser Nolen. Sure looks different now.

TxCruzr 04-22-2002, 08:08 PM Kinda hard to believe that that s the same Kate that gave me her old TJ flares after she stoped running the 35s...:D
Looks great, can't wait for the Moab pics...

ouibus 04-22-2002, 08:34 PM Nolen,
I have to say that your cruiser is unbelievably sweet. I only wished that my crusier looked that good.
How did you cut your front fenders? Also, for your main hoop of your roll bar(the double one), does it attach on the fender well, or down lower than that? I am looking to start my cage pretty soon and I am looking for the best mounting locations.
ouibus 04-22-2002, 08:38 PM Almost forgot to ask. I noticed in your last pic that you bent the lower legs of the front hoop to move closer to the firewall. How did you do this and still keep your clutch pedal? I want to do this on mine, but I kind find a way to do this and still have a working clutch pedal. Any advice would be great. Thomas
ROCK HUGGER 04-22-2002, 09:27 PM I like it :D
coyote 04-22-2002, 09:51 PM Nolen, Got any pic's of the rear bump stops? I can't figure out how you run 42's with the springs....I stuff my 36's and guess I need to lower the stops to prevent this but if I upsize my tires I wanted to see roughly what I had to do first in order to prevent this....
ehsankiani 04-23-2002, 12:37 AM That real nice Nolen.. I just wish I can see it crawling up some obstacle someday in person..
cool.. Nice going..
Dan Gleason 04-23-2002, 02:59 AM She's a beauty, Nolen.

Straight across in the front with a cuttoff wheel.

The two main hoops both land center over the fenderwell roll bar support up on the top of the fender.
The front bars pass between the clutch pedal and the side pillar with a "hair" to spare.

The rear setup is stock FJ-55 springs with a shorty add-a-leaf and 3" over stock shackles.
The hanger has been relocated back 2"
The bumpstops have 3x4 rectangular tubing as extensions, but the spring itself limits the uptravel mostly. I REALLY have to get in it hard to make the bumpstops hit in the rear.
Most of the pressure is on the spring itself.
TLCObsession 04-23-2002, 07:14 AM Hey Nolen -
Is this pic before the bumpstops or after?
Are you bringing spare springs to Moab?]:flipoff2: :flipoff2:
That sucker is a pretzel!
Looks great! Did you put the steel corners over the existing ones, or have it all cut out first?
Can't wait for the Moab pics - We all know you will be fully gett'in it!

cruiserbrett 04-23-2002, 07:26 AM The truck looks great! What method of attaching do the TJ flares require?
Is that as bad as the spring wrap gets? What kind of anti wrap bar do you use?
Cruzilla 04-23-2002, 07:42 AM That's one sweet rig! keep the pics coming!
wngrog 04-23-2002, 09:29 AM That is at full "stuff" on the bumpstop...I do have an extra spring. They rarely get that twisted unless I am playing "Ramp champ" though.
As for the corners, they are attached with rivets over the existing toyota metal and the TJ flares are attached with 1/4" bolts in 4 places.
DCruiser138 04-23-2002, 09:49 AM i got a spare spring 4 ya:flipoff2:

Holy frickin' springwrap batman. Looks like the traction bar isn't working so well- if it's hooked up...http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/attachment.php?s=&postid=506202
BJ On Roids 04-23-2002, 02:30 PM the factory curve on the front guards looks better than the straight cut ones, and the TJ flares, look surprisingly good too
and shiny.....damn that paint looks nice, evdn underneath is all purty, SUPER
krcruiser 04-24-2002, 09:06 AM Nolen,

I can answer this one, they are factory units. :D
although it is painfull to put jeep parts on a cruiser..
krcruiser 04-24-2002, 12:30 PM thanks Jason thats what I was afraid of ...crap they do fit and look nice for a jeep part. Ah what the hell I put a FORD front end in so I guess a Jeep fender flare isn't as bad
