First torque the lower ball joint nut to 80 ft. lbs, then tighten the upper ball joint sleeve to 50 ft. lbs, lastly tighten the upper ball joint nut to 100 ft, lbs. (tighten slighly further if needed to line up the cotter pin)

Disclaimer: If using any information I have put forth causes you any problems at all I guess you shouldn't have listened to me. :D :jeep:

I thought it was 100 lbs on bottom, then 50lbs on adjustment and then 80lbs on top nut. I would get a confirmation to be sure.

Well if you are using a centered bushing, then just like they said. If is offset, then you will have to set it as close to 50 as you can and have it facing the correct way for what you are trying to correct.

Just found this...in a issue of JP. Torque the sleeve to 40 ft. lbs, using NAPA # 278-2030 wrench. Lower nut is torqued to 80 ft. lb. and top is 100 ft. lb. This sounds close enough for me. Later:D :D

The Moog or Federal Mogul tech bulletin covering this procedure is available on my site in the pdf section.

The funky socket is available from NAPA as a "spanner" socket or some such name, which will likely confuse our Aus and Brit Brethren as they call all "wrenches" "spanners".

Any more useful or useless info required, just ask!

I bought mine at NAPA using that part number. $19.90 plus tax. I read the same issue of Jp mag. :D

I went to NAPA looking for one and we couldn't find it in the tool book. So I ordered it from Snap-on online for less than $20 delivered.
