: F150 vs F250 knuckles, D44, Mr. N?

Ok, so I want to keep my 5 lug rims, but I want to use my Ford F250 flat-top knuckles and dual piston calipers. According to Mr. N's web-site I can only run 3/4 ton brakes, rotors, and hubs with the flat top F250 knuckles.

It seems to me that if I use the F250 flat top knuckles, F250 calipers and caliper brackets, and then use the F150 spindles and hubs, I should be able keep my 5 lug rims? The spindles (2/4 ton & 1/2 ton) are both the Ford 5 bolt spindles.

Am I right or do I have to switch to 8 lug?

BTW, this is all for a solid axle D44 and the F250 outers are off a 77.5-79

what are you gonna run for rotors?
15" rims do not clear f250 brakes unless you run badly offset wheels or grind the calipers and mounts a ton.
previous owner did that to my f250 outers, now it spits the retainers out constantly.

toss the 5 lug crap.
if you are lifted enough to need flattop knuckles you will need a heavy duty full float rear end, which will be 8 lug.

hmm, didn't think about the rims....I have a 96 Ranger with a full-width D44 and full-width 8.8. I just geared and locked them....I'm only running 35's so I really don't need an 8-lug FF rear, especially with 5.13's, a single t-case, and an anemic V-6. On top of all that I just bought 5x5.5 rims and tires.

Guess, I'll go ahead and either sell the 8-lug stuff or keep it for a future project. Thanks for the help guys.
