I went out to start my '79 FJ40 and it's dead. Nothing works, not even the hazards. It worked fine the night before. I replaced the battery, and checked the ground and fusible link, which appear to be ok. I'm running out of ideas. Any help would be apperciated. My schematic says the ignition is hooked up directly to the fusible link. I'm not getting power to the ignition, but I do at the end of the fusible link, where it enters the wiring harness.

Check and make sure you have a good ground with your negative battery cable, I've had that happen before. If the fusible link has been smoked you can definitely tell by looking at it.

I'd remove stearing shaft cover and check power at the key and follow that to the ignition and coil. Other than that clean both negative chasis ground and positive contact points. It seems problems like this are do to poor connections.
