I want to change out the stock muffler on my V10. I don't want it to be too loud, just a low rumble. I have been checking on some of the other Ford sights but have not found what I am looking for. It looks like the 2 chamber Flowmaster is an option but I don't want it that loud. Has anyone tried a Dynomax? I do realize that it will never sound as good as a V8. Thanks-Brad

I have a Gibson cat back on my f-350 , it has a nice ,low rumble !
Not real boomy just a lil' louder than stock ! I got the stainless steel version but the standard would be fine . :flipoff2:

Thanks I will keep that In mind. Does that V10 need the back pressure the cat causes or can a person remove it? (no smog check in KS)

I,m not real sure on that one , I have a buddy who took off his cat and used a Flowmaster with no problems . I was told by a Ford tech. this would throw a code and cause some problems w/ computer . :flipoff2:

Seein as the V10 is of the modular family i would have to beleive it would react the same as the V8s. i had a 97 with the 4.6 and used a Dynomax 2 into 2 straight thru design. The 4.6 has dual cats so running dual exhaust on it was cake and opening up the exhaust really helped it run. It was 2.5 in to the muffler and 3 in from there back. It sounded sweet.

Magnaflow mufflers on a Ford V10 sound pretty good. Another suggestion is a Banks Dynaflow exhaust system. I rode in a '99 F250 V10 with the Banks exhaust on it a couple of days ago and I thought it sounded great. Banks DOES make exhausts and performance kits for the gas burners, too.
