My brother in law has a very clean 69 FJ40 he wants to sell.
It is nearly 100% stock, but does not have the OEM carb.
He claims it runs crappy - cuts out, rough idle, dies.
Anyhow, he's had it for about 4 yrs and hardly used it but rebuilt the brakes, starter and hoses. I helped him locate it and I recall it having decent compression so I'm 90% sure the right carb, point and plugs and this thing could be a real score.
BUT, for me to be sure I thought the best way was to post here to see if one of my fellow Pirate brothren would be willing to loan/sell me a stock carb KNOWN to be in good running condition.
I live in Sac, the rig is in the Bay - near Walnut Creek.
I'd be willing to pick up, leave a decent deposit, and return it the same day (and do the R&R w/new gasket). I could do this during the week while youre not using the thing!

Think he's lookin to get $4500.00 for it, the body is as good as any you'll find, interior needs TLC, very very minimal floor rust.
