i have up for grabs a 1962 GMC 3/4 ton 4x4.
SERIOUSLY THIS HAS TO GO>>> 500 DOLLARS, ANY TAKERS???????

it has the original 351 V-6 which runs strong, just a little smokey on start up after it has been sitting for a day or so. SM-420 manual tranny w/ compound low, and divorced transfere case.

i got t-boned about a month ago on the driver side, but it still drives fine, and both doors open and close.

this would be a great hunting rig, as it has one of the most rock solid dependable engines i have ever seen in it.

or if you have access to some body parts, then it wouldnt take much to make this a really nice rig again.

I wish I didn't have 2 of these trucks and a toyota project or I'd pick it up in a heartbeat. I'll ask around to a few people I know who are into the 60-66 chevys and GMC's. Also is the cab damaged or just the door, fender, cowl pieces, thanks.

ok so i have had a couple offers, but still have the rig... may be gone this weekend, but if it isnt i will probably just turn it over to the state through the voluntary vehicle retirement program for 650 dollars.... i really dont want to do that, it would be a dirty crime in fact, but i cant keep it here...

if it comes down to that i will strip down all the saleable parts so that at least i can help to save a different 60-66.

I want it in a terrible way...however NH and CA is just too far for a 21 year old who can barely afford what your asking as is.

That thing is just such a sweet rig...napco and compound low with the old 351 v6....they dont make them like that anymore.

it's actually not napco. they stopped building 4x4's in 1960 for chevy. this is the first body style of truck that chevy/gmc built as a 4x4 from the factory.

how far is santa maria from san diego? is the frame damaged? hard to tell how bad the body is from the pix. what do you think it would take to get it paintable, minus the rust of course. is it just a door and fender or is it worse off. i would love to build something like this.

have you posted on 67-72chevytrucks.com yet?

Is that a shortbox? I can't tell. If its a shortbox don't scrap it...the box alone is worth several K.

Have you tried:

http://www.chevytalk.org/threads/postlist.php?Cat=0&Board=UBB43&page=0

http://www.stovebolt.com/

They are both big 60-66 boards. The V6 and a rockwell t-case that is in one piece is definatly sellable.

If you were closer I would pick it up from you... I have 4 61 chevys and would love another :)

That is a long bed truck, due to it being an 8 lug. The box, even if its a short bed is NOT worth "several K"...don't be ridiculous!!! If you got $500 out of it (shortbed) you would be doing great! If you do part it, I would be interested in the transfer case, as the one in my '64 suburban is making lots of noise. Thanks.
