So I have this skid plate that bolts to the differential via the two threaded holes on the bottom flat portion of the diff. I don't have the bolts, and would like to bolt it on.

Anyone know what size those are?

You should know by now that the answer is 'depends', especially with your eclectic mix of junk. What year is the 3rd member housing. If its is from the early 80's it wont be metric.

This diff is the one off of my first Range Rover *before* we did the front end axle swap at the field meet.

Therefore...1990.

Chances are they are Whitworth-if you're referring to the two bolts beneath the pinion.

Maybe I'll just drill and re-tap them. Might be easier than dealing with Shit-worth threads.

Just order the right whitworth bolts from RN or the usual suspects.

Or wait until the slowest Rover parts shipper in the world sends him his windscreen wiper switch, there might accidentally be some in the box. (I found the wiper switch again while searching for the box of brandy new injectors that I had in my hands while packing for the move in PDX but can't for the life of mefind now!)

That's probably what I'll do. :flipoff2:

I've called Andrew three times about the package he has for you. Perhaps another nasty e-mail from Pedro will get him to ship it!

Maybe Pedro should build him a cake or something.

Or have one of his girlfriends make it for him!

M9x1.25xwhatever. Only place I could find them was from the dealership (I even checked with Josh at RockWare and that's where he gets his bolts for his pinion skids which I'm running). If I ever have one of those f'ing things disappear again, I'm drilling and tapping it to a commonly available size.

3/8" BSF 20tpi (British standard Fine)
At least for the RRCs and similarly yeared Defenders and Discos. Qt claims it is still the same.
