Well my tires arrived and they sent 37-12.5-16 trxus MTs instead of 16.5s so Discount had to reorder. So I decided on 39.5x13.5x16.5 Iroks instead. I'm gonna need some bumpstops now but I should enjoy the added width and higher gear. I'm also thinking about a lockrite up front instead of a selectable E locker. My friend has one and he said it would be fine with hydro assist. I don't know as I've never driven one but he said I could drive his. I thought I might try it and see. I could use the 500 bucks difference for something else. Where can I find the best buy on lockers. I'm interested in a loc right and an elocker. THanks for your help fellas I'm stoked for the con.

i found the best prices have been from porc here on pirate... only thing is is that im still waitin for my elocker for my 60 and its been well over 4 months... not that its there fault (well kinda) they dont have any elocker in stock... nobody does, so you might just have to get that lock rite, porc sent me the wrong part in the first place. a 30 spline unit when i ordered a 35 spline. they dont believe me so i told them i had a pic of it and they still said they had no way of knowing.:shaking: :shaking: stupid shits... so i called eaton and talked to them and they said they wont have any until sept. so there goes the $650 i had in the elocker just sittin on the CC as credit... yeah im pissed:mad3:

If you don't want a selectable at least get a regular detroit. the lockrite won't last.

My thoughts too, I don't know how lockrites hold up in D60s but I'd go with a detroit myself.

I was suprised by the durability of the lockrite in my buddy's Ford HP D60. It has lasted over 6 years, and it has run 42 and 44" tires, done Moab several times, mud comps, lots of general wheeling, etc. It's never had a problem. It could be luck.
That truck still uses a stock ps pump and sector box too. And it turns fine.

Lockright I suppose if your only going to use it for the con. You wont steer like you do with an open diff. Hydro assist, full hydro, whatever. The tires can be totally sideways and still pull you forward.

With my old assist set up I could turn fine with ARB locked up. By turn I mean move the rubber :flipoff2:, it still will push even at full lock, but that is not a function of the Steering Ram

Get the detroit. Its only $510 at Randy's and the re-sale value is better IMO. Its more work to install but more peice of mind in the end.

That right there is the reason to go with a Detroit, you shouldn't expect failure and be surprised when it didn't happen.

ARB > E-locker

I agree taht an ARB is better, thats why I have one in my 60, but if your set on an E-Locker, there has been one in the Axles for sale forum for a while, $500 I think.

Let's get it straight are we talking about the eaton e-locker or tractech's thing ?
I don't see anything wrong with the eaton and my next locker will probably be one.
I have no interest at all in tractechs electric locker and have had no problems with my arb's( 2 rigs, 2 arb's)

From a design standpoint (materials, mechanical properties), the ARB is superior, but to some the requirement of Air is a downfall. I personally would rather have to try to get the air problem solved than the electrical.

But I think its more the chance to pour sand in you E Locker fans vanaynays:flipoff2:

Scout254 has had no troubles to date with his Elocker, nor have I with my ARB. so so far its 0-0, but we'll let you keep track

Edit: But in all honesty, every Elocker purchase decision I have seen has been based on a monetary difference in the 2. Ill take the ARB track record for my $100 if for no other reason at all.
