can anybody tell me a good place to find a new kingpin set for a 70 dana 44. The only one I could find has a crazy expensive price.
Also can anybody share some info on this axle. As far as disk brake upgrades to it.

And one last question anybody have a source for 70 F-100 4x4 parts.

thanks for your help,

Call Ford, they give you a list of several web sites. I thing LMH has a free catalog, 59-72 Fords.

Also Check Dana web site, they list the part number you need. Then just shop around.

Bet you $10 it's a Reverse Spiral Dana 44 (High Pinion).

Search this board, there was a pic of a King Pin axle with disk brakes. Not sure how you would do this. I'd look into the info the Early Bronco's guy use to put late 70's disk brakes on there drum Dana 44 (Ball joints, so it might not work) Also remember you have the smaller U-joint so you can't swap outer axles shafts.

What do you want to know? If it's stock you'll have 4.09 or 3.54 gears.

I don't think its worth your time to upgrade this axle to disk brakes. Small u-joints, hard to get parts for, drum brakes, not much of a winner. I got a front Dana27 that you can replace it with :p.

Mainly I'm trying to find new king pins, because the old ones are shot. Yes it is a High Pinion 44. I'm mainly trying to find parts to restore this truck back to new. Defintly not a wheeler. Just trying to make a old truck new again.

THANKS for all your advice it helps out alot.

Also does anybody know anything about a so called heavy duty 9" rear end. A guy at 4 wheel drive rebuilt the rear end once and said he had a hard time finding parts because when the truck was bought new it had an optional heavy duty rear end that actually came out of a 69 ford truck.

Again thanks for your help.
