I can't find any cheap Dodge axles for my w100, so I'm wondering if I could fit some chevy 1/2 or 3/4 tons on my truck. Chevys are in plentiful supply here so I can find them for real cheap. One of my buddys has a welder too, if required.

If i'm not mistaken the springpad width is different by about 1.5 inches.

I believe the front spring perch width is different by .5 inches. IMHO, the GM axles are a better choice for dodge applications because they are more plentiful.

The front axle itself is about 1" to 1.5" narrower than a dodge front axle, but they are close enough to the same width that I doubt anyone would ever be able to tell.

So what all would I need off the chevy? I'd probably get 3/4 ton's. I have a 5in body lift on my Dodge, would that fit? And my last question, would the steering arm and brake lines fit the chevy axles?

I don't see why a body lift would make a difference...

I would suggest getting the steering off of a GM because the dodge stuff uses a different taper. To go one better I would suggest doing crossover steering rather than leaving the push pull type setup. As for brake lines, the dodges use a different (and IMHO better) system than the GM does. I would try to stick with the dodge stuff, but I can't guarantee that it will work for you.

sorry I meant 5in suspension. I need a new master cylinder for the brakes anyways so Ill just buy new stuff all around probably, pertaining its not too expensive.

Suspension lifts still shouldn't matter, but that would be all the more reason to switch to crossover steering instead of push pull steering.

i put all of my dodge brakelines on my axles that i swapped in. the rear was just a one for one swap. the front i retapped the calipers so i could use the entire dodge brake line setup (banjo bolts/rubber hose/steel line and the single rubber hose that connects the axle to the truck) hope this makes sense. if not i could maybe get some pics.

would i need to get some custom driveshafts or could i use my old ones, or the chevy ones?

if you can get the chevy ones, keep em. they will save you some a$$ pain. then all you have to get is a chevy yoke for your t-case. other wise i would recomend customs.

i am using junk yard specials that i pieced together just to be cheep til i get some cashflow.

Looks a little challenging. I might have to try it if I can't find another dodge frontend.
