i have a '76 EB 9" and i'm wondering what the wall thickness is in the tubes. anybody know this? or does anyone know anything about any of the 9" axles. which ones had thicker tube walls, what sizes, diameters, etc.
also, what are the most common problems with '76 EB 9" style housings? just housings. not gears, carriers, shafts, etc.

It can be either a 2800lb small bearing or a 3300lb big bearing, this page will give some pics as to the differences:

I have a Lincoln 9" here on my shop floor. At the outer ends the wall thickness is ~.260" and the od is 3.080", about 8" in from the end the od is 3.25" and I'm not to sure of the id or wall thickness at this point because the pipe was expanded out from 3.080" to 3.25"
