The long tie rod on a full size chevy (about 50" across) is what is worn out on my truck.

Anyone know of an online source for these things? They generally run about $100 or more:(

The reason for needing a stock one is that I redrill (with the tapered drill bit) the stock steering stabilizer hole in the main tie rod. This is where my draglink ties into the main tie rod.

If I had highsteer I wouldn't bother with finding a stock tie rod with the stabilizer hole in it...I'd give rockstomper a call.

This is on my cruiser. I've redrilled the stock steering arms to fit the dana 44 tie rod ends. Also I use a stock length draglink off of a late 70s wagoneer.

I'll go check rockstompers website now just to check if he has anything like what I need.

Thanks.

Ya I am having issues with them. I ordered a tie rod and drag link almost three plus weeks ago and let them know that I need this stuff in a hurry and did not mind paying extra to get it shipped. He even told me that they have the tie rod in stock for my front 44. I even paid them extra for quicker shipping. He said that I would get it before Friday of this week. They are closed on Mondays so you can’t call. I have tried to call three times today and always get an answer machine. Another thing that burns me is that I let them know I would be glad to do a write up on his product on the RPS page and he did not seem to care. Oh well, may just try to make my own. I am going to call him later today again to see what the deal is. I am bummed I Missed my wheeling trip this weekend because of this. I am giving them a few more days then pulling my order. Sorry to vent just frustrated. Some may have had great service but not me. Who knows whats going on since he never called as they said they would. :mad3:

Ryan, we have the technology to make you some rods. If you supply the material we have the taps to thread those suckers. Drop me a line and lets get this thing done.

Thanks Matt that was nice of you. I think I will give them a just a few more days then I am on plan B. The reason I went with them is the whole time factor thing. I had so much to finish on the Jeep I just pimped out the tie-rod and d-link. Will let ya know but that was super cool of you to offer. You sould start your own dam shop. HAHAH

Keep calling --- my guess is it'll work out. I've ordered from Rockstomper with good success.

Ummm... do you have an ad packet for RPS? Audited page delivery stats - with a % ratio of what comes from content and what comes from BBS? Demographics on who uses the site, and for what?

I know some of the RPS guys and they seem like decent guys, but I'm not sure that I'd really 'care' to have a review on their website... don't hold that against the vendor... Seriously, don't take this wrong, but there are a LOT of websites vying for discount product or 'consideration' from vendors, and many of them are severely fly-by-night. Vendors have to pick and choose who to work with based on the details in the first paragraph, and their own personal sense of what feels right.

Just to be clear Randii...I dont think he was lookin for a discount, I think he was just tryin to do somethin cool for them and we are looking to build a better site of information. :)

Thanks for the reply Randi. Makes since on your point. If I had a product I would be happy to have some one give me more advertisement. But oh well their loss. I just would like a company to stand on their word. If they say they are going to send it, well send it. If they have an issue call me and let me know. I would understand and make other plans. I guess I am pissed since I Had plans for a kick ass trip to only be shut down on Friday to no deliver of what was promised.
